Ashford to Co-Direct SHREK Tour; Cast Announced

Producers DreamWorks Theatricals and Neal Street Productions, Ltd. are thrilled to announce casting for SHREK THE MUSICAL. Native Chicagoan, Eric Petersen will lead the First National Tour cast as Shrek. The Tony and Drama Desk Award-winning SHREK THE MUSICAL will launch its national tour in Chicago beginning July 13 at the Cadillac Palace Theatre (151 W. Randolph St.). Tickets are currently on sale.

McCarter Theatre Presents TAKE FLIGHT 4/30-6/6

Take Flight, a new musical with music by Academy Award winner David Shire, lyrics by Tony Award winner Richard Maltby Jr. with a book by Tony Award winner John Weidman will have its American premiere on the Berlind stage of McCarter Theatre in Princeton, April 30 through June 6. Following a critically acclaimed inaugural year, theatre and Academy Award-winning film director Sam Mendes will again direct a transatlantic company of actors for the second season of The Bridge Project, a unique three-year series of co-productions by The Old Vic, BAM and Neal Street devoted to producing large-scale, classical theatre for international audiences.

DreamWorks Theatricals & Neal Street Productions have announced that a new block of tickets are now available for SHREK THE MUSICAL. The award-winning hit new Broadway musical is now on sale through May 30, 2010. Beginning November 10th, Ben Crawford will perform the title role of ?Shrek'. Crawford replaces Tony Award® nominee Brian d'Arcy James, who departs after the performance on Sunday, November 8th to appear in Manhattan Theatre Club's production of Time Stands Still.

The cast and crew of SHREK THE MUSICAL, the Tony Award-winning production, celebrated the show's one year anniversary on Broadway with a reception on stage at the Broadway Theatre on Sunday, November 8th after the matinee performance. Cupcakes were provided to the cast by CRUMBS Bake Shop. The production also said goodbye to original 'SHREK' star Brian d'Arcy James who played his final performance in the title role yesterday as well.
