DreamWorks Theatrical and Neal Street Productions are delighted to announce that tickets for SHREK THE MUSICAL® are on sale to the general public from today, October 1, 2010.

SHREK THE MUSICAL, which plays the Orpheum Theatre December 1, 2010 through January 2, 2011, kicks off the 2010-2011 Best of Broadway series under the direction of Carole Shorenstein Hays. Tickets go on sale Sunday, October 3.

DreamWorks Theatricals and Neal Street Productions, Ltd. are pleased to announce that David F. M. Vaughn has recently joined the National Tour of SHREK THE MUSICAL in the role of the vertically challenged villain Lord Farquaad. He is joined by Justin W. Shuffler, who will play the Big Bad Wolf.

According to a report by Mail Online, in addtion to Nigel Lindsay, who will be playing the title character, Nigel Harmen, Richard Blackwood, and Amanda Holden will be joining the upcoming London production of Shrek as Lord Farquaad, Donkey and Princess Fiona respectively.

SHREK THE MUSICAL® will open at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane in May 2011. Tickets will go on sale to the general public on October 1, 2010. The new stage musical will be booking until February 19, 2012.

UK Daily Mail reports that Amanda Holden, a judge for 'Britain's Got Talent,' has been cast as 'Princess Fiona' in the West End production of SHREK. A contract has yet to be signed, though the casting has been finalized. Rehearsals for the Theatre Royal Drury Lane musical are expected to begin in the spring, with previews beginning in May. Holden previously worked with Rob Ashford on THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE.

The third and final installment in the Bridge Project collaboration between the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM), London's Old Vic Theater, and Sam Mendes's Neal Street Productions has been postponed until 2012 due to 'scheduling issues,' Bridge Project press representative Jackie Green told the New York Times.

According to Baz Mabigboye in The Daily Mail, Britain's Got Talent's Amanda Holden scored in her SHREK audition for the West End production and reportedly 'played a blinder and was brilliant.' No casting has been announced as of yet, however rumors are abuzz that Holden will be the choice lady ogre.

Take Flight, a new musical with music by Academy Award winner David Shire, lyrics by Tony Award winner Richard Maltby Jr. with a book by Tony Award winner John Weidman will have its American premiere on the Berlind stage of McCarter Theatre in Princeton, April 30 through June 6. Deadline.com is reporting that Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, written by Tony Award-winning composing team Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman now has a committment from director Sam Mendes to helm a stage musical version of the children's classic. The show is now aiming to open in time for the 2011 holiday season in London, followed by Broadway.

The official Facebook page for SHREK THE MUSICAL has announced that 'First up: he may be small in size (a mere 4 feet, 10 inches), but he makes up for it in tyranny! It's, Lord Farquaad, who will be played by Todd Buonopane. Todd has appeared in the Broadway production of 'Grease' and has also made TV appearances on '30 Rock' & 'Law & Order: CI.'
