Georgia Shakespeare welcomes Atlanta back to the Bard this spring, kicking off its 27th season with the return of free theatre in Piedmont Park.

In Sing the Truth, a New York/New Jersey metro-area exclusive that comes to NJPAC's Prudential Hall on December 18, 2011 at 3pm, three great women of contemporary song - multilingual singer-songwriter Angelique Kidjo, Grammy-winning jazz legend Dianne Reeves and jazz/gospel-inspired diva Lizz Wright - pay tribute to three recently departed legends: Miriam Makeba, Abbey Lincoln, and Odetta.

The New Frontier Story Lab has selected Question Bridge as part of the five project teams to attend. The lab will focus on supporting projects that have original stories and engage audiences in innovative ways, across multiple platforms. Organized as an immersive lab experience, activities will include individualized story sessions, conversations about key artistic, design and technology issues, and case study presentations. Drawing talent and expertise from all of Sundance Institute's creative programs, including Feature Film, Documentary Film, and the Sundance Film Festival, the Lab has been planned under the supervision of Michelle Satter, Director of the Sundance Institute Feature Film Program.

More than 20 metro Atlanta arts organizations have launched a unique collaborative campaign to increase interest in and give a face to the region's robust arts and culture offerings.

Guest conductor Charles Floyd will lead the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra in a free concert in the Horizon Sanctuary at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta on Sunday, July 17, 2011, at 7:00 p.m. The concert, which celebrates a partnership between the Orchestra and the National Black Arts Festival that spans more than 20 years, is free and open to the public.

Zaccho Dance Theatre presents internationally acclaimed choreographer Joanna Haigood's performance installation The Monkey and the Devil, created in collaboration with visual artist Charles Trapolin. Haigood's visceral hybrid of dance, theater, and visual art combines contemporary movement, hip-hop elements, and spoken text in an energetic production that is both searing and immediate.

Now in its second year, the American Voices New Play Institute at Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater will hold a four-day convening bringing together more than 100 theater practitioners from across the country to further the dialogue around new play development.
