A different immigrant story unfolds in Erika Sheffer's domestic drama RUSSIAN TRANSPORT.

A powerful and suspenseful drama, Russian Transport follows an immigrant Russian family struggling to survive in Brooklyn, New York. Fishy Productions, in association with Darlinghurst Theatre Company, is thrilled to be bringing Russian Transport to the Eternity Playhouse in March for its Australian Premiere.

The saying goes that there are no new ideas. Originality in the age of mass-production and population density and exponential destruction of every natural muse known to great artists, has been shot mid-flight. Originality was shot through the heart, plummeted into an oil-drenched ocean, washed upon a beach of glass and needles only to be eaten by an ice addict and made into a meme.

Head over to the Matrix Theatre in June for a mini Australian theater festival, when L.A.'s Australian Theatre Company presents a 'Double Feature' of two celebrated Australian plays that were made into movies and ATC's second annual free reading series - all over the course of 3-1/2 weeks. Opening with Speaking in Tonguesby Andrew Bovell on June 6 and the U.S. premiere of Ruben Guthrie by Brendan Cowell on June 7, performances of the two plays continue in repertory through June 28, with a free "Works by Women" reading series taking place every Wednesday evening.
