As BroadwayWorld previously reported, Tony winner James Corden will be the new host of THE LATE LATE SHOW. Corden - a multi-faceted performer, host, writer and producer with accomplishments that span television, theater, film and comedy - will take the reins of the daily late night show in 2015.While that means good news for late night television audiences, it strikes a blow to the producers of the planned Broadway revival of Stephen Sondheim's 'A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum,' in which Corden was to star.

Artistic Director Michael Halberstam and Executive Director Kathryn M. Lipuma announce Writers Theatre's opener to its 2014/15 season: the Midwest Premiere of Isaac's Eye by Lucas Hnath, directed by Artistic Director Michael Halberstam. The show runs September 2 - December 7, 2014 at Books on Vernon, 664 Vernon Ave Ave, Glencoe. The Press Openings are Wednesday, September 10, 2014 and Thursday, September 11, 2014, at 7:30pm.

The star-studded Broadway production of the backstage comedy It's Only A Play, by 4-time Tony® Award winner Terrence McNally, began preview performances last night at Broadway's Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre (236 West 45th Street) with an opening night set for Thursday, October 9, 2014. As previously announced, Academy Award® winner F. Murray Abraham, Tony® Award winner Matthew Broderick, Emmy® and Tony® Award winner Stockard Channing, international film sensation Rupert Grint, Tony® Award winner Nathan Lane, Emmy® Award winner Megan Mullally, and newcomer Micah Stock star in It's Only a Play. 3-time Tony® Award winner Jack O'Brien directs.
The cast greeted fans outside of the stage door and BroadwayWorld was there for all of the excitement. Check out photos below!
