REDCAT (the Roy and Edna Disney/CalArts Theater) presents the Los Angeles premiere of Cloud Eye Control's Under Polaris, an epic multimedia odyssey with live music by The Need. Under Polaris opens Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at REDCAT and runs for a limited four-night engagement through Saturday, October 17, 2009.

Theater heavyweights Leslie Uggams, Clifton Davis, Alan Campbell, Leslie Becker, Sherry Boone, and Rodney Hicks will premiere tomorrow in The Rebel Theater Company's staged reading series of LITTLE ROCK written and directed by Rajendra Ramoon Maharaj. LITTLE ROCK presents untold stories of nine young teenagers otherwise known as the 'Little Rock Nine' and their struggles, strengths, hardships, and triumphs over the tragic events of the 1957 Little Rock crisis. The readings will be September 29th at 7pm, and September 30th at 12noon and 7pm at Union Square Theater.

Casting is complete for Andy Warhol Was Right, a new multimedia dance production conceived by Melinda Atwood, Sammy Buck, Dan Acquisto, Daryl Gray, Giovanna Sardelli, and Shea Sullivan, premiering in the 2009 New York Musical Theatre Festival at the Manhattan Movement & Arts Center, running from September 30th through October 4th.

John Bonanni, Big Fish Big Pond, Ltd and the New York Musical Theater Festival present the world premiere of Under Fire, a new musical set in the late 1970's during the bloody revolution in El Mirado, and based upon the 1983 motion picture of the same title.

The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) and Kellner-Avery Productions proudly present the World Premiere of HURRICANE. This epic new musical takes an all-but-forgotten moment in history and brings it to life with the largest cast in NYMF history, 30 in all. Drama Desk Award-winner Everett Quinton (Charles Ludlam's Ridiculous Theatrical Company), Michael Winther (33 Variations, Damn Yankees, 1776, and Mamma Mia! on Broadway), and Marlon Sherman (Mary Poppins, Beauty and the Beast on Broadway) are set to star in Max Understood, running at the 45th Street Theatre in the 2009 New York Musical Theatre Festival. Marlon Sherman will be playing the title role of Max.

Jonathan B. Wright (Spring Awakening - Broadway original cast, Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist, Youth in Revolt) has been cast in the New York premiere of Gay Bride of Frankenstein, a 'comic-book-rock-musical' that begins its run at the New York Musical Theatre Festival on September 28. Wright joins fellow Spring Awakening alum, Emma Hunton, completing an outstanding cast which includes Darryl Winslow (Avenue Q, Evil Dead, Unlock'd - NYMF), Jeremiah James (Carousel - London), Dana Aber, Christian D. White, Christopher Hudson Myers and Ashley Kate Adams.
