Jackalope Theatre Company, the Edgewater-based group which cultivates theatre that manifests the adventure deeply rooted in the American mythos, announces the first production in its sixth season. Jackalope's season begins with the world premiere of THE PEACOCK,written by Calamity West and directed Marti Lyons. It will play November 7 - December 8 at City Lit Theater, 1020 W. The company's 6th season will feature the world premiere of Calamity West's The Peacock directed by Marti Lyons, the world premiere of Cory Hinkle's The Killing of Michael X: A New Film by Celia Wallace directed by Associate Artistic Director Kaiser Ahmed, and the world premiere of Ike Holter's Exit Strategy directed by Founding Company Member Gus Menary. The season will conclude with The 5th Annual Living Newspapers Festival, Jackalope's festival of short plays inspired by current American newspaper articles.

The play, directed by Sideshow artistic director Jonathan L. Green, is one of Sideshow's most ambitious projects to date, both for its artistic and technical challenges, and will conclude Sideshow's 2010-2011 season. Heddatron will run in repertory for 11 weeks starting February 11 through April 24, 2011, in Steppenwolf's Merle Reskin Garage Theatre, 1624 N. Halsted St.
