La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts & Mccoy Rigby Entertainment present the first show of its 2017-2018 season, and the 40th anniversary of the iconic theatre with American Idol's Frenchie Davis starring in AIN'T MISBEHAVIN', with music by Thomas 'Fats' Waller, conceived by Richard Maltby, Jr. and Murray Horwitz, musical direction by Christopher Troy, choreography by Jeffrey Polk and directed & staged by Ken Page - an original cast member of the 1978 Broadway premiere!

Chris Isaacson Presents has announced a full slate of spring entertainment, beginning with Heart & Soul: Music of Whitney Houston, Dionne Warwick & Diana Ross starring Sharon Catherine Brown, Natalie Wachen, and Trenyce Cobbins; and continuing with Trixie Mattel in Ages 3 & Up; Shoshana Bean with special guest Rumer Willis; Niki Haris with special guest Donna De Lory; and Donna McKechnie with special guests Greg Safel and Jeffrey Scott Parsons (previously announced).

Musical Theatre Guild, the winner of the Los Angeles Drama Critic's Circle Margaret Harford Award for sustained excellence in the theatre, will celebrate Black History Month with the rarely produced HALLELUJAH, BABY!. The one-night-only concert event took place at Glendale's historic Alex Theatre yesterday, February 12, 2017 at 7:00 PM with original cast members Frieda Payne and Robert Hooks in attendance. Take On Me will send audiences back to the 1950's New Orleans in this musical revue featuring four couples struggling with the highs and lows of love! All told with 80's pop hit, the four couples promise a swinging good time "all night long."

On Sun, July 10, 2016, Chris Isaacson Presents the 4th annual Broadway Under the Stars celebrating the 35th Anniversary of the Tony Award-winning musical, Dreamgirls --- a complete sellout at the newly remodeled Ford Theatres in Hollywood, CA. 

Perez Hilton has been set to host Broadway Under the Stars - Celebrating the 35th Anniversary of 'Dreamgirls' - on Sunday, July 10 at 8pm at the John Anson Ford Amphitheatre.

A collection of nearly two decades of performers will join supporters, donors, and community leaders from all over the United States for a celebratory gala at the La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts. The event pays tribute to Steve Cisneros for his continued dedication to helping young people through the arts. 2014 also marks Phantom Projects' 17th Anniversary and because Cisneros created the organization when he was just 17 years old the event is called: From 17 to 17.

Before joining the cast of Martin Scorsese's Emmy and Golden Globe award-winning HBO series BOARDWALK EMPIRE, and before starring as Mimi Marquez in the critically acclaimed Off-Broadway revival of RENT, Natalie Wachen was a member of the La Mirada-based Phantom Projects Theatre Group. Now, Ms. Wachen returns not as an actress and director, but as a teacher.

Musicals Tonight! continues its ongoing salute to Broadway and Off-Broadway Standbys, Understudies and Alternates with its next edition of At This Performance... to be held on Sunday, March 23rd at The Lion Theatre, 410 West 42nd Street at 7 PM.

Following a sold-out premiere at Joe's Pub last December, Shakina made her 54 Below debut with ONE WOMAN SHOW: A Work In Progress on Feb. 20, recounting in song and story the exploits and misadventures that led to her gender transition. A story of surviving the 90s and creating a new life in a new millennium, the OC Weekly calls Shakina 'a bona fide standout,' and VICE magazine says, 'nothing will stop her in becoming who she is.' Swedish Grammy-winning pop band Brainpool (Christoffer Lundquist, David Birde, Jens Jansson) are in New York City for a week-long development workshop of their rock opera JUNK, following two sold-out concerts of songs from the show (Pieces of JUNK) performed by a cast of Broadway performers at Joe's Pub earlier this year.
