Broadway's 40 theatres aren't the only places to catch performances from your favorite stars! Well after Broadway orchestras begin their overtures, ensemble members take their dance breaks, and performers belt out their eleven o'clock numbers, the party continues at various cabaret venues throughout New York City. The York Theatre Company and its acclaimed Developmental Reading Series will present four new works during the month of June: Orville and Wilbur Did It! a play byDavid Zellnik with songs by Mr. Zellnik and Eric Svejcar; Juliet and Juliet, based on a concept by Natalie Tenenbaum and Sean Patterson, with book and lyrics by Mr. Patterson, and music by Ms. Tenenbaum; Elsie Janis and the Boys with book & lyrics by Carol Crittenden and music by John T. Prestianni; and Grounded for Life with book by Pat Hazell and Bill Habeeb, lyrics by Lawrence Goldberg and Mr. Hazell, and music by Mr. Goldberg at The York Theatre Company at Saint Peter's (619 Lexington Avenue, entrance on East 54th Street, just east of Lexington Avenue). The readings are open to the public with a suggested donation of $5.00.
The Skivvies (the undie-rock comedy-pop duo of Lauren Molina and Nick Cearley) just kicked off their monthly residency at 42West with Splashdance- featuring an all-star line up of guest artists from the worlds of Broadway, Television and Film. The first concert took place last night, with guest stars James Carpinello (Rock of Ages), Phillipa Soo (Hamilton, Natasha Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812), Adam Kantor (Rent, Next to Normal) Jessica Vosk (The Bridges of Madison County), Nikka Graff Lanzarone (Chicago), Natalie Tenenbaum, Ephraim Sykes (Motown, Newsies, Memphis), Zak Resnick (Piece of my Heart, Mamma Mia!), Robyn Anderson, and many more.

Broadway For All (www.broadwayforall.org) celebrates their third anniversary with the Broadway For All Holiday Benefit Cabaret this evening beginning at 7:00pm at The Sheen Center (18 Bleecker St, NY, NY 10012). Hosted by Nickelodeon star Ramy Youssef (See Dad Run), the benefit features food trucks, music, merriment and a call to supporting theater arts education for students throughout the New York area.

The York Theatre Company will present a staged reading of Benjamin Button, a new musical with music by Natalie Tenenbaum and book and lyrics by Brett Boles. Stephen Nachamie will direct. The musical is based on the short story authored by F. Scott Fitzgerald.
4@15: Four New Fifteen-Minute Musicals, performed in conjunction with University of California, Irvine, will commence performances Friday, April 18 and Saturday, April 19, for three performances only at the Playroom Theater. Tammy Holder serves as Music Director; Brian Blythe directs.

New York's hottest composers have gotten into bed with lyricist Alex Rubin for her premiere concert, Lyric Tramp: The Songs of Alex Rubin. The concert, which will feature Alex Rubin's lyrics, paired with the music of 8 different composers, will take place on Monday, December 16, 2013 at The Laurie Beechman Theatre (407 W. 42 St, New York, NY).
The BMI-Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop will present its autumn Smoker, a semiannual showcase of new songs from Workshop writers, on Thursday, November 21 in BMI's New York office.
On Wednesday, June 5, Fundamental Theatre Project will present Benjamin Button - A New Musical, as a part of Mass Rhetoric: A New Works Festival.
