2016 Tony-Award Nominated Best Play ECLIPSED Will Have West Coast Premiere Engagement at The Curran Next Spring

Playwright Danai Gurira and director Liesl Tommy joined the cast of Broadway's Eclipsed tonight where she surprised the audience during the curtain call and announced plans for Carole Shorenstein Hays to bring the Tony Award-nominated play to the Curran for a limited engagement next spring. House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi, the most iconic leader in the U.S. House of Representatives, along with Wally Hays (Deputy Director of the Curran) were there for the announcement and dedicated the evening's performance to two of the abducted and still missing 218 schoolgirls of Chikbok, Northern Nigeria, and abducted girls all around the world, as part of the show's ongoing series of dedications that was launched by U2 lead singer Bono and Ms. Gurira last month.

San Francisco, March 15, 2016 – Nancy Pelosi, the Democratic Leader of the U.S. House of Representatives for the 114th Congress , and mezzo-soprano Frederica von Stade will join the Grammy Award-winning San Francisco Girls Chorus for its annual fundraising gala to support its acclaimed education and training programs for girls and young women Today, March 18, 6:30-10 pm at the City Club of San Francisco, 155 Sansome Street. The event's theme is “Honoring Strong Women's Voices”, and proceeds will support the education and scholarship programs of the five-time Grammy Award-winning San Francisco Girls Chorus, which has provided top-level musical training for girls and young women for 37 years.

In perfect timing with the political headlines of the 2016 Presidential Race, Washington D.C.'s infamously funny comedy troupe The Capitol Steps brings an all-new stage show based on their album "Mock the Vote" to the Palace Theater in Waterbury on Thursday, April 7, at 7:30p.m.  Tickets for the politically charged comedy extravaganza, which is presented in part with WSHU Public Radio, range in price from $30 to $48 and can be purchased online at www.palacetheaterct.org, by phone at 203-346-2000, or in person at the Box Office, 100 East Main St. in Waterbury.

A BROADWAY CHRISTMAS CAROL Returns for Sixth Season at MetroStage

Producing Artistic Director Carolyn Griffin is pleased to announce A BROADWAY CHRISTMAS CAROL, created by Kathy Feininger, will return to MetroStage for the holidays tonight, Nov. 24, through Dec. 27 for a sixth season. It has been the holiday show for the past five seasons and has become a holiday tradition here at MetroStage. Prior to 2010, it had played to sold out houses at Round House Theatre in Silver Spring, Maryland, for seven consecutive years ending in 2004.
