The cast of the Broadway production of To Kill a Mockingbird presented 400 middle and high school students with a special performance at the Library of Congress on Tuesday to celebrate the culmination of Theatre in Our Schools Month, which is held annually in March. The students, from schools in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia, are members of the International Thespian Society, the honor society for drama students.

To Kill A Mockingbird, Aaron Sorkin's new play, directed by Bartlett Sher, and based on Harper Lee's classic novel, will launch its coast-to-coast National Tour in August 2020 at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in the heart of the nation's capital. The tour will be on the road for over two years. Additional information about the tour, including casting and additional cities, will be announced shortly.
The Board of the Museum of Performance + Design takes great pleasure in announcing that Michael Tilson Thomas will be presented with the 2019 San Francisco Arts Medallion for his outstanding leadership in the arts on May 14, 2019, at Saint Joseph's Arts Society in San Francisco. The San Francisco Arts Medallion was created in 2005 by the Museum of Performance + Design (MP+D) to recognize those individuals whose leadership, action, and generosity have benefited the cultural life of the San Francisco Bay Area. '19: The Musical' is the brainchild of Through the 4th Wall co-founders, Jennifer Schwed and Doug Bradshaw. Both DC natives, Schwed and Bradshaw conceived the idea of a musical about the passage of the 19th Amendment back in 2016, and have been overseeing workshops and concert performances for a little over a year, with an eye toward a full production in time for the Amendment's centennial in 2020.
