Die ungarische Baroness Emmuska Orczy verfasste die Abenteuer des Scarlet Pimpernel und gab sie ab 1905 in England als Serienroman heraus, ubrigens nicht ohne gewisse kunstlerische Freiheiten hinsichtlich der historischen Realitat. Frank Wildhorn chrieb fur DAS SCHARLACHROTE SIEGEL unter die Haut gehende Balladen, humoreske Ensembles sowie dramatische Massenszenen. 1997 am Broadway erschienen, setzte sich der Erfolg des Musicals auch nach der Deutschen Erstauffuhrung 2003 in Halle/Saale fort. Regisseur und Theaterautor Roland Huve inszenierte Chemnitzer Neueinstudierung zugrunde liegende Produktion 2010 in Bielefeld und bringt sie nun mit Veit Schafermeier in der Hauptrolle findet ab 15. Oktober an die Theater Chemnitz.

The Tony-nominated Best Musical by Frank Wildhorn and Nan Knighton, The Scarlet Pimpernel, returned to the New York stage at Feinstein's/54 Below for a one-night-only celebration of its tempestuous and much-beloved score. The concerts featured cast members from the original THREE Broadway versions of the show as well as additional stars who would likely be cast in the show if it were revived today. Once again, New York City audiences got the chance to hear songs like 'Into the Fire,' 'Falcon in the Dive,' 'When I Look at You,' 'Storybook,' and 'Where's the Girl?' performed by stars who know how to sing them. Produced, directed, and hosted by Scott Siegel. Musical Direction by Ross Patterson.

James Snyder got this week off to a great start when he brought James Snyder: Prince Charming to Birdland as part of the venue's ongoing Broadway at Birdland concert series. Existing partly as a way to promote the upcoming production of Ever After at Paper Mill Playhouse, this intimate cabaret concert was really just a great excuse to get to hear one of Broadway's favorite leading men sing a collection of songs.
