Over 400 guests attended Westport Country Playhouse's annual fundraising gala, 'Sophisticated Lady: A Gala Evening Honoring Phylicia Rashad,' on Monday evening, September 16. In addition to honoring the Tony Award-winning actress, arts advocate and philanthropist Howard J. Aibel of Weston was presented with the Westport Country Playhouse Leadership Award. On August 19th, emerging writing duo Lyons and Pakchar recorded their debut album # LOVE live at The Cutting Room. The 11-song record, infusing Pop/R&B and theatre, explores the good, bad, and awkward roller coasters in human relationships and is due for a release in Fall/Winter of 2013. MadBromance Productions announced today that they will be hosting a 29-hour reading of JAWBREAKER: THE MUSICAL on September 26th and 27that 3p.m. With a book by Darren Stein who wrote and directed the 1999 film, JAWBREAKER has music and lyrics by Jeff Thomson and Jordan Mann(Trails), choreography by Shea Sullivan (The Big Gay Musical), musical direction by James Sampliner (Legally Blonde, The Wedding Singer) and is directed by Gabriel Barre (The Wild Party).

Previously presented in a sold-out weekend at Mr. (William) Finn's Cabaret at Barrington Stage Company, this evening of new, irreverent tunes will showcase the talents of two promising young alumni of the NYU Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program.
