Kansas City Ballet to Discuss NEW MOVES Showcase, 4/1

KANSAS CITY, MO (March 24, 2016) — Artistic Director Devon Carney announced the choreographers chosen for New Moves, a unique performance series designed to search out, develop and showcase emerging choreographers, both from the national dance scene as well as within Kansas City Ballet. New Moves is intended to provide time and space for choreographers to create world premiere works with accomplished professional dancers. New Moves will feature choreographers Jennifer Archibald, Andrew Skeels, Stephanie Martinez, and Kansas City Ballet company dancers Sarah Chun, Charles Martin and Ryan Jolicoeur-Nye.

Boulder Arts Week 2016 Brings Together Over 100 Artists, Starting Today

Over 100 artists and arts organizations are expected to participate in Boulder Arts Week 2015, taking place today, March 25, through April 2. This annual, weeklong celebration of the robust arts community in Boulder will feature a diverse range of arts and entertainment in venues throughout the community. Boulder Arts Week will offer fine art, sculpture, dance, theatre, music, cinema, and outdoor art experiences at traditional venues, such as the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art, Macky Auditorium and the Dairy Center for the Arts, as well as unexpected venues including retail stores, community centers, street corners, and churches.

The Joyce to Present Dorrance Dance in World Premiere of ETM: DOUBLE DOWN

The Joyce Theater Foundation, Inc. (Linda Shelton, Executive Director) is proud to present one of the hottest tickets in tap (and concert) dance right now, 2015 MacArthur Foundation “Gernius” Fellow Michelle Dorrance and her internationally renowned company Dorrance Dance. The company, under Dorrance's artistic leadership and choreography, will perform the world premiere of ETM: Double Downfrom April 26 to May 1 at The Joyce Theater. Miller Theatre to Continue 'Composer Portrait' Series with Francesca Verunelli

Miller Theatre at Columbia University School of the Arts continues its Composer Portraits series with Francesca Verunelli, featuring International Contemporary Ensemble (ICE, David Fulmer, conductor) on Thursday, April 21, 2016, 8:00 p.m. at Miller Theatre (2960 Broadway at 116th Street).

National Portrait Gallery to Present Leon Golub Portrait Exhibit, Today

Striking portraits of some of the twentieth century's most powerful leaders including Castro, Pinochet and Brezhnev by the American artist Leon Golub are to go on display at the National Portrait Gallery on 18 March, it was announced today (Monday 14 March.) They are being shown for the first time in the United Kingdom.

Cid Pearlman to Debut Final Work in 'ECONOMIES' Trilogy at Felix Kulpa Gallery

Santa Cruz, Calif. -- Cid Pearlman Performance and Felix Kulpa Gallery have announced the world premiere of ECONOMIES OF EFFORT: 3, the third and final work in a triptych of performance installations on the theme of 'economy.' ECONOMIES OF EFFORT: 3 opens at the Felix Kulpa Gallery in Santa Cruz, Today, March 17, and runs two weekends through March 27. It continues at the Joe Goode Annex in San Francisco, Friday to Saturday, April 8 - 9.

International Architect Bernard Khoury to Present at the Museum of Contemporary Art, 3/16

Architect and designer Bernard Khoury, Founder of DW5 in Beruit, Lebanon will present the eight annual Donghia Designer-in-Residency lecture on March 16, 2016, at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles. The Donghia Designer-in-Residency is hosted by the Architecture/Landscape/Interiors Department at Otis College of Art and Design and consists of a one-week master class culminating with a public lecture at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles.

ICI Curator's Perspective to Present Joselina Cruz on 3/15

2016 SALA Artist in Residence at Adelaide Festival Centre Announced

Following the success of last year's SALA Festival Artist in Residence, Aurelia Carbone and her large scale illusion-based installation, Q*bert's Ball, Adelaide Festival Centre is excited to announce James Dodd as this year's Artist in Residence. 2016 will be the third year Adelaide Festival Centre has hosted a SALA Festival Artist in Residence.

Joffrey Ballet Presents WINNING WORKS Program Tonight

CHICAGO – The Joffrey Academy of Dance, Official School of The Joffrey Ballet, and the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago present four World Premieres in the sixth annual “Winning Works” program, the culmination of Joffrey's 2016 Winning Works Choreographic Competition. This year's Competition winners - Jeffrey Cirio, Christian Denice and Mariana Oliveira each choreographed a work, along with a fourth by Joffrey Academy Artistic Director Alexei Kremnev, titled Coco + Igor. All four works are performed by dancers from the Joffrey Studio Company and the Joffrey Academy Trainee Program. The Joffrey Academy of Dance's “Winning Works” program is presented at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago's Edlis Neeson Theater, 220 E. Chicago Avenue, over three performances only: tonight, March 5, at 3:00 PM and 7:30 PM and Sunday, March 6 at 3:00 PM.
