MCA Denver and DCPA Team for 'MIXED TASTE' Lectures

The Museum of Contemporary Art Denver (MCA Denver) and the Denver Center for the Performing Arts (DCPA) announced today that they have formed a partnership to present Mixed Taste: Tag Team Lectures on Unrelated Topics at the DCPA's Seawell Ballroom.

Week Three Programming of Lincoln Center's MOSTLY MOZART Festival 2017 Announced

Lincoln Center's Mostly Mozart Festival continues its 51st season with its third week of performances, including presentations of The Dark Mirror: Zender's Winterreise directed by Netia Jones and starring tenor Ian Bostridge. The production also features members of the International Contemporary Ensemble, Mostly Mozart artists-in-residence, performing Hans Zender's orchestration of Schubert's Winterreise, conducted by Baldur Bronnimann in his Mostly Mozart debut.

Free, Epic Art Collaboration Headed to Navy Pier This Fall

Navy Pier, Chicago's mission-driven cultural district, has commissioned world-renowned contemporary artist Nick Cave and international architect and MacArthur Fellow Jeanne Gang for Here Hear Chicago, a new site-specific project that incorporates art, design and performance.

BRIC Partners with Dekalb Market Hall on Large Scale Mural Project

BRIC has partneredwith DeKalb Market Hall (445 Albee Square West, Brooklyn), the borough's largest market hall and culinary center, to install large-scale murals by Brooklyn-based visual artists. Columbian artist Tatiana Arocha, who is best known for placing hundreds of bird cut-outs throughout the borough as a public art commentary on climate change; Nigerian-born Olalekan Jeyifous, whose 50-foot "Crown Ether" sculpture was featured at this year's Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival; and Cern, whose Fort Greene "Comandante Biggie" mural paid controversial homage to the late rapper Biggie Smalls, have each created a mural that will remain on view indefinitely at DeKalb Market Hall.

The Neo-Futurists present Ensemble Member Dan Kerr-Hobert's The Food Show, partnering with Metropolitan Brewing to bring the site-specific world premiere to the brewery's new Avondale location, 3057 N. Rockwell, July 27 - September 2. Previews are Thursday, July 27 - Saturday, July 29 at 7:30 p.m., with opening night Monday, July 31 at 7:30 p.m. Performances run Thursdays - Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. Ticket prices for previews and Thursdays are pay what you can; for the regular run, tickets are $10-25. The Joffrey Ballet Launches National Call for ALAANA Artists for 8th Annual Winning Works Choreographic Competition

???????The Joffrey Academy of Dance, Official School of The Joffrey Ballet, announces a national call for ALAANA (African, Latino(a), Asian, Arab and Native American) artists to submit applications for The Joffrey Academy's Eighth Annual Winning Works Choreographic Competition. The goal of the award is to recognize talented and emerging ALAANA choreographers whose unique perspective will ignite creativity in the form of original works of dance.  The deadline for application is September 1, 2017.

Jonah Bokaer Choreography presents OCCUPANT

On June 15 Jonah Bokaer Choreography will be presenting OCCUPANT and Study For Occupant for their Hudson Premiere. This will be Jonah's third performance run at Melissa Auf Der Maur's Basilica Hudson: OCCUPANT is a trio for three dancers performed by Tal Adler-Arieli, Sara Procopio, Betti Rollo), preceded by a Jonah Bokaer solo, Study For Occupant, both with scenic collaborations with Daniel Arsham. Minimal and mesmerizing, these works were inspired by the Edward Albee play of the same name. OCCUPANT, has been presented worldwide including The Fabric Workshop & Museum in Philadelphia; The Spoleto Festival in Italy; The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts in Miami; and the Monodramas Festival of Luxembourg. Multimedia collaborators for this work include scenographer Arsham, sound designer Jesse Stiles, dramaturg Gavin Kroeber, and composer Ryoji Ikeda (Dataplex).
