NVA will present THE TRIP TO BOUNTIFUL, Horton Foote's beautiful American classic about finding your way home, in honor of founding Ensemble member Sandra Ellis-Troy (1942-2010.) NVA is thrilled to have Ellis-Troy's close friend Sylvia M'Lafi Thompson anchoring the cast in the pivotal role of Carrie Watts.

The Hangar Theatre has announced casting for its The 38th season, which will include a thrilling line-up of plays and musicals. The season takes off with Ken Ludwig's knock-down, drag it out farce, Lend Me A Tenor (June 21-July 7), starring Emily Skinner, Michael McCormick, Janet Dacal, Daniel Berlingeri, Lindsay Clemmons, Eddie Vona and Judy Levitt. That will be followed by the premiere of a strikingly innovative concept of the Tony winning best musical Titanic (July 12-July 28), starring Alma Cuervo, William Youmans, Drew McVety, Christianne Tisdale, Phillip Hoffman, Joneil Joplin, and Robert Cuccioli. The sophisticated comedy Full Gallop (August 2-August 11) is next, starring Dee Hoty, followed by the area premiere of the Pulitzer Prize winning musical Next to Normal (August 16-September 1), with Andrea Burns and Chris Hoch. The final offering is a true American classic, Horton Foote's The Trip to Bountiful (September 13-September 22), featuring Susannah Berryman.

Nashville theater favorite Linda Speir takes on the role of Carrie Watts in Towne Centre Theatre's production of Horton Foote's The Trip to Bountiful, opening Thursday, February 10 and running through Saturday, February 26. Jim Himelrick directs the poignant drama at the Brentwood theater. In addition to Speir, whose resume includes roles with numerous Nashville area companies, Himelrick's cast includes Corey Caldwell, Bev Kassis, Beth Henderson, David Thoreson, Joe Shepherd, Bob Buchholz and Ed Warr.

Everyone wants to go home. Written by Horton Foote, 'The Trip to Bountiful' is the story of Mrs. Carrie Watts, an elderly woman who wants nothing more than to return home...to Bountiful, the small, Texas town where she grew up. Her overprotective son and boss daughter-in-law want her to remain in Houston, but Mrs. Watts is determined, and once her mind is made up, there's no stopping her. While on the road, she befriends a young traveler, Thelma, whom she entertains with stories of her past.
