Bucks County Playhouse Presents The Iconic Musical 42ND STREET

The quintessential backstage musical comedy, '42nd Street' brings Broadway golden-age glamour, a large tap-happy cast and a score chock-filled with American songbook classics to Bucks County Playhouse (BCP) in an all-new production. Directed by Bucks County Playhouse Artistic Associate Hunter Foster and choreographed by Jeremy Dumont, the musical previews June 29 with an official opening night performance on Saturday, June 30 at 7:30 pm and performs through August 4. The 2018 Bucks County Playhouse Season is sponsored by Bank of America.

Director Alan Paul is bringing Lerner and Loewe's CAMELOT to a new generation, and his efforts couldn't be timelier. This stunning Shakespeare Theatre Company production at Sidney Harman Hall is a beacon of light in a city besieged by political unrest and uncertainty. Lerner and Loewe's enduring story- a hallmark of the 'Golden Age' of musical theatre- sets the love triangle between King of Arthur (of the infamous sword in the stone), Queen Guenevere, and the knight Lancelot against the backdrop of Arthur's struggle for civilization and goodness in a world of violence, barbarism, and hatred.

Sierra Stages Presents Roald Dahl's JAMES AND THE GIANT PEACH

This summer, Sierra Stages is proud to present the musical "Roald Dahl's James and the Giant Peach" featuring words and music by the Tony and Academy Award-winning songwriting team of Benj Pasek and Justin Paul and book by Timothy Allen McDonald, based on the book "James and the Giant Peach" by Roald Dahl. "Roald Dahl's James and the Giant Peach" plays for four weekends only from July 12 through August 4 at the historic Nevada Theatre in Nevada City.

A classic tap-happy musical and a new production of a legendary Broadway comedy are highlights of Bucks County Playhouse's 2018 Season. Executive Producer Robyn Goodman, Producing Director Alexander Fraser and Producers Stephen Kocis and Josh Fiedler announced details of the season, which will kick off at the historic Playhouse in New Hope, Pennsylvania on May 19.

Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director/CEO) has just announced a new collaboration with Roundabout's Company in Residence: Fiasco Theater. Roundabout will present Fiasco's new production of MERRILY WE ROLL ALONG featuring a book by George Furth and music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim. Merrily We Roll Along is based on and with additional material from the original play by George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart.

Broadway Veteran Paige Davis Set To Star In MAME At North Shore Music Theatre

Bill Hanney's award-winning North Shore Music Theatre (NSMT) opens its 2018 musical season with the madcap musical comedy, MAME, starring Broadway veteran Paige Davis. Jerry Herman's classic musical tribute to unconventional family life opens Tuesday, June 5 and plays through Sunday, June 17.

Bucks County Playhouse Opens Season With AN ACT OF GOD

In an era where seemingly everything from "Roseanne" to "Will and Grace" has received a reboot, God also has decided to take a fresh look at one of his greatest cultural achievements, The Ten Commandments, in the hilarious Broadway comedy, "An Act of God." Directed by Tracy Brigden, the comedy runs at Bucks County Playhouse May 18 - June 16. The official opening night performance is Saturday, May 19 at 7:30 pm. 'Not So Silent Cinema' Presents Charlie Chaplin Shorts At Bucks County Playhouse

The comic genius of Charlie Chaplin will be on full display as Philadelphia-based "Not So Silent Cinema" provides live accompaniment to three Chaplin shorts in a special one-performance only event at Bucks County Playhouse, Sunday, April 29 at 2 p.m. The presentation is part of the Playhouse's Visiting Artist Series.

Photo Flash: Bucks County Playhouse Honors RISE Inspiration Lou Volpe

Lou Volpe, the retired theatre education pioneer was recently inducted into the prestigious Bucks County Playhouse Hall of Fame, following such honorees as Angela Lansbury, Oscar Hammerstein and Shirley Jones. A formal ceremony was held on April 14 at the historic playhouse. Volpe, whose career is the inspiration behind "Rise," the new TV series on NBC, was heralded for his life's work as a high school drama teacher at Harry S. Truman High School in Levittown, PA. During his tenure there, he transformed this Bucks County community with the magic of theater.

In a season where Disney's "Frozen" is heating up the box office on Broadway and an American commoner is preparing to marry an English prince, one of Broadway's most charming princesses, two-time Tony nominee Laura Osnes ("Rodgers + Hammerstein's Cinderella" on Broadway) is bringing her own Princess Party to Bucks County Playhouse. The concert is being presented in New Hope as part of the Bucks County Playhouse Visiting Artist Series.
