The glamour, spectacle and fashion of 1930s Broadway comes to North Shore Music Theatre (NSMT) as a chorus girl from a small town aspires to find love and success on the Great White Way in the Tony® Award winning 42nd STREET, tapping across the NSMT main stage from October 28 to November 23, 2008. Press night is scheduled for October 30th at 7:30 pm.

North Shore Music Theatre (NSMT) will open its production of 42nd STREET on October 28, 2008 where it will play through November 23, 2008.

North Shore Music Theatre (NSMT) has introduced the 2008 Academy Performance Ensemble. Under the artistic direction of NSMT's award-winning education program, these singers and dancers from Boston's North Shore ages 14 to 18 perform a wide range of selections from classic and contemporary musical theater. Their first appearance will be at Boston Medical Center's 'Halloween Town' at the Seaport World Trade Center in Boston on Saturday, Oct. 25.

Because 'we're all in this together,' local schools have the chance to team up with North Shore Music Theatre (NSMT) for a feel good fundraiser that will give them the opportunity to make DISNEY HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL 2 their high school musical. Only the second theater company in the nation to produce DISNEY HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL 2, NSMT will present this New England Regional Premiere from December 18 to January 11, 2009.

Seattle Repertory Theatre has cancelled their production of the Broadway bound Waiting for Godot due to the loss of a financial backer. Actor Bill Irwin was set to star in production, scheduled to open on January 15th and run through February 14th. The theater has replaced the production with Athol Fugard's Road to Mecca, directed by Leigh Silverman.

North Shore Music Theatre (NSMT) announced today that the role of Peggy Sawyer in its upcoming production of 42nd STREET (October 28 to November 23, 2008) will now be played by actress Melissa Lone. Ms. Lone comes to NSMT from Broadway where she recently appeared as Maggie in the Tony(R) Award winning revival of A Chorus Line. No stranger to 42nd STREET, she played Gladys in the National Tour and Peggy Sawyer in the Trump Plaza's production in Atlantic City.

North Shore Music Theatre (NSMT) has announced that one of the most critically acclaimed musicals of all time, SHOW BOAT, will perform from September 23 to October 12, 2008. Press Night is scheduled for September 25th at 7:30 pm. This project has been made possible by the National Endowment for the Arts as part of American Masterpieces: Three Centuries of Artistic Genius.

So, I'm teaching at Center Stage, minding my own business, when who should appear but Matt Corriel, composer extraordinaire. He's young, he's hip, he's fun and he's brilliant.
