To continue this year's celebration of women, CMT has added seven new powerhouse performances to the “2018 CMT Artists of the Year” lineup: Carrie Underwood with CMT Next Women of Country and tour mates Maddie & Tae and Runaway June; Miranda Lambert and Pistol Annies; Kelsea Ballerini with Alison Krauss; Karen Fairchild and Kimberly Schlapman with soul legend Gladys Knight; and Hillary Scott with singer-songwriter Tori Kelly and Grammy-award winning gospel artist Kirk Franklin. In addition, honoree Maren Morris will join forces with Brandi Carlile for a powerful tribute to late icon Aretha Franklin. The 9th annual special premieres LIVE from Nashville on Wednesday, October 17 at 8:00pm ET/PT, only on CMT.

In a year of celebrating the achievements of women in country music, CMT today announced that Loretta Lynn will be honored with the “Artist of a Lifetime” award presented by Ram Trucks at this year's all-female “CMT Artists of the Year” event premiering live Wednesday, October 17 at 8:00 PM ET/PT. Academy Award winner and “Coal Miner's Daughter” actress Sissy Spacek will bestow the award to Lynn, who joins previous recipients of the honor including Shania Twain (2016), Kenny Rogers (2015), and Merle Haggard (2014).

Andrea Bocelli has teamed up with some of the hottest musical stars on the planet for his forthcoming album 'Si' – reuniting with his friend Ed Sheeran after their chart-topping 'Perfect Symphony' on a brand new song called 'Amo Soltanto Te' (written by Ed with lyrics by Tiziano Ferro) and joining with pop sensation Dua Lipa on the single 'If Only'. Crossover superstar Josh Grobanand classical soprano Aida Garifullina also duet with Bocelli on the record, which is released onDecca on 26th October. It is his first album of new material in 14 years – 16 brand new songs which celebrate love, family, faith and hope.

Big laughs kick off the month, on Saturday, October 6th, with stand-up comedian GARY VIDER. Gary performs regularly in NYC and went all the way to the finals on NBC's America's Got Talent in 2015. His television appearances include Conan, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, AXS TV Gotham Live, and Comics Unleashed with Byron Allen. All Seats are $21.00, and the hilarity begins at 8 PM.

In recognition of the undeniable influence and impact of female artists in country music, CMT today announced that for the first-time ever the annual “CMT Artists of the Year” special is dedicated to the women of country music—past, present and future. This year's all-female “Artists of the Year” celebration will honor CarrieUnderwood, Miranda Lambert, Kelsea Ballerini, Maren Morris, Little Big Town's Karen Fairchild and Kimberly Schlapman, and Lady Antebellum's Hillary Scott. The 90-minute special will premiere on Wednesday, October 17 at 8:00 PM, ET/PT only on CMT.

Country Music Hall of Fame member and Mississippi native Charley Pride, was honored with another industry accolade recently, celebrating his legendary career as a pioneering Country musician. Pride was inducted into the Mississippi Arts + Entertainment Experience Hall of Fame class of 2018, on August 25th in Meridian, Mississippi, along with four other recipients; singer-songwriter Jimmy Buffett, Photographer William Eggleston, Writer and editor Willie Morris, and Blues musician Howlin' Wolf. Pride also received a 'Walk of Fame' star as part of the ceremony.

Calling all TV fans, the Tribeca TV Festival is back on the big screen bringing audiences together to discover new series and be the first to see favorite new season premieres. The 2nd Tribeca TV Festival will celebrate unforgettable storytellers who have shaped what 'peak TV' is today and introduce new voices in episodic storytelling. Over four days at Spring Studios in New York City, each event will feature a conversation with the stars and creators of favorite and soon-to-be-favorite shows. To acknowledge her outstanding contribution to classical theatre in America, Shakespeare Theatre Company (STC) will present Tony-Award winning actress, singer and stage director Phylicia Rashad with the prestigious William Shakespeare Award for Classical Theatre (Will Award).

Two-time Academy Award Nominee & Emmy Winner Ann-Margret (Grumpy old Men, Bye, Bye Birdie), Emmy Award-winner Jane Curtin (The Spy Who Dumped Me, “Saturday Night Live”), Emmy Award-winner Christopher Lloyd (Going in Style, Back To The Future) and Emmy Award-winner Loretta Devine (“Grey's Anatomy”, Waiting to Exhale) will join the upcoming Welcome to Pine Grove! directed by Michael Lembeck from a screenplay by Donald Martin. The actors join Academy Award-winner Ellen Burstyn and Academy Award-nominee James Caan in this Mean Girls meets “Golden Girls” romantic comedy. The Astute Films production is currently filming in Atlanta.

2017 Regional Theatre Tony Award Recipient Dallas Theater Center announced that Sarahbeth Grossman will be joining the theater as the full-time Artistic Producer. The producer is a key member of the artistic staff at Dallas Theater Center, overseeing the day-to-day producing of Dallas Theater Center's productions and working collaboratively within the organization and community to achieve both short?term and long?range artistic and institutional goals. An independent Tony Award-nominated producer, Grossman comes from New York City where she has over a dozen theater credits on Broadway, Off-Broadway, national tours, and in the West End.

Blitz Films and Straight Up Films announce that Stephen Dorff (“True Detective,” BLADE) has been signed to star in director Nick Sarkisov's English-language debut EMBATTLED. Written by David McKenna (AMERICAN HISTORY X, GET CARTER, BLOW), the film also includes McKenna's son, Colin, who was born with Williams Syndrome and inspired a supporting role for the film. Sarkisov is set to produce for Blitz Films, alongside Kate Cohen for Straight Up Films, and Scott LaStaiti, with Blitz co-founder Sergey Sarkisov and Dorff serving as executive producers. Eryl Cochran from Blitz Films will oversee production. The film is scheduled to shoot in Alabama this September.

CBS announced today that former secretaries of state Madeleine Albright, Hillary Clinton and General Colin Powell will guest star in the fifth season premiere of MADAM SECRETARY to be broadcast Sunday, Oct. 7 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. They filmed their scenes on Wednesday, July 11, during the first week of production of the critically acclaimed series' upcoming season.

GRAMMY and Emmy Award winner Harry Connick, Jr., today announces a U.K. show at the iconic London Palladium. Hailed for his live and recorded musical performances, the Tony nominated Broadway male lead brings 'A New Orleans Tricentennial Celebration' tour to the capital on 10 October 2018.
