Carnegie Hall Announces 2015-16 Jazz, World & Pop Music Season

Carnegie Hall's 125th anniversary season is fast approaching, and we are looking forward to a variety of exciting new projects and exceptional programming. Listed below are jazz, pop, and world music highlights at Carnegie Hall for the 2015-2016 season.

Michael Cerveris, Christian Borle, Judy Kuhn, Andy Karl & More Join Lineup for 17th Annual BROADWAY BARKS!

BROADWAY BARKS announces their 17th annual star-studded dog and cat adoption event to benefit New York City animal shelters and adoption agencies. Founded by Bernadette Peters and Mary Tyler Moore, this event features celebrities from the hottest shows on Broadway.  The event, produced by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, will take place on Saturday, July 11 in Shubert Alley (located between 44th and 45th Streets, between Broadway and Eighth Avenue). The festivities begin at 3:00 p.m. where you meet all the adoptable dogs and cats; celebrity presentations of adoptable pets will take place between 5:00-6:30 p.m. This year's event will be co-hosted by Bernadette Peters and Andrew Rannells (The Book of Mormon, HBO's 'Girls'). The event is free and open to the public.

IT SHOULDA BEEN YOU Cast Album Receives Release Date; Track Listing Revealed!

Ghostlight Records announced today the release of the Original Broadway Cast Recording of It Shoulda Been You.  Produced by Kurt Deutsch and Joel Moss, the album will be digitally released on Friday, August 14, 2015 with a physical release on Friday, September 18, 2015.  For more information on the album, please visit: www.sh-k-boom.com/itshouldabeenyou.

Michael Cerveris, Ruthie Ann Miles & More to Headline NYCLU's BROADWAY STANDS UP FOR FREEDOM Benefit Concert

The New York Civil Liberties Union, the New York State affiliate of the ACLU, announced today a star-studded lineup of award-winning performers for its annual benefit concert. "Broadway Stands Up for Freedom" will boast performances by some of Broadway's finest on Monday, July 20, at the NYU Skirball Center for Performing Arts (566 LaGuardia Place). Connecticut Couple to Marry This Weekend at IT SHOULDA BEEN YOU on Broadway

Broadway Loves Chita! Stars Gush Over THE VISIT Legend at Lunch

At a celebration lunch was held at New York City's swanky Four Seasons Restaurant earlier this week, May 26, in honor of Chita Rivera's Tony nominated performance in Broadway's THE VISIT. Hosted by Liz Smith and Edgar Bronfman, Jr., a slew of special guests came to celebrate the Broadway icon. Jeremy Jordan, Sierra Boggess, Steven Pasquale & Betsy Wolfe Added to New York Pops' 2015-16 Season

Guest artists Sierra Boggess and Steven Pasquale join The New York Pops and Music Director Steven Reineke to kick off the orchestra's 2015-2016 season on Friday, October 9 at 8:00PM in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage. The program, My Favorite Things: The Songs of Rodgers and Hammerstein, honors the beloved music of Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II. On Friday, March 11 at 8:00 PM, Jeremy Jordan and Betsy Wolfe are featured with The New York Pops and Maestro Reineke in 42nd on 57th: Broadway Today, an evening of modern musical theater hits.

New Dramatists, Tony Honor recipient and the nation's premier playwright development laboratory, just honored Tony Award winning actor and Chairman of the Board of The Actors Fund, Brian Stokes Mitchell with their 2015 Distinguished Achievement Award at its 66th Annual Spring Luncheon tribute. The event featured musical performances from some of Mitchell's most memorable shows by Tony Award winner Leslie Uggams (King Hedley II, Hallelujah Baby), Nicolette Robinson (Brooklynite, TV's 'The Affair,' 'Hart of Dixie') and Leslie Odom, Jr. (Hamilton, NBC's 'Smash'), and Tony nominated Stephanie D'Abruzzo (Avenue Q, Carnival at City Center Encores!).
