Nominations in 26 competitive categories for the American Theatre Wing's 64th Annual Antoinette Perry 'Tony' Awards were announced May 4, 2010 by Broadway Star Lea Michele and Tony Award Nominee Jeff Daniels.

The Tony Awards Nominations were announced this morning on Tuesday, May 4th. Lortel Statues for 14 categories and 2 special awards were handed out by celebrity presenters at the 2010 Lucille Lortel Awards at a live awards ceremony last night, May 2, at Terminal 5. Hosted by the Off-Broadway League, the live show was co-hosted by Bryan Batt and Bebe Neuwirth and featured performances by Alan Menken, STOMP, Seth Rudetsky, Edward Watts of The Fanasticks and LaChanze. The New York Pops has announced additional casting for its upcoming 27th Birthday Concert and Gala. Entitled The Best Is Yet To Come: Celebrating the Legacy of Frank Sinatra, the event will take place at Carnegie Hall on May 3 at 7PM. The evening will be hosted by Liz Smith.

Tthe 55th Annual Drama Desk Awards ceremony will take place on Sunday, May 23, 2010 at the F.H. LaGuardia Concert Hall at Lincoln Center. Former Drama Desk Award winner Patti LuPone will host the awards ceremony.

PS Classics will release a recording of 'Life Begins at 8:40' on June 8. The Harold Arlen, Ira Gershwin and Yip Harburg collabrative revue was presented in concert at The Library Of Congress on March 22 with Kate Baldwin, Montego Glover, Philip Chaffin, Christopher Fitzgerald, Rebecca Luker, Brad Oscar, Graham Rowat, Jessica Stone and Faith Prince. Both the concert and the recording were conducted by Aaron Grandy.

The world's largest and most respected music print publisher, Hal Leonard Corporation is publishing publish vocal selections for Memphis and The Toxic Avenger, two highly acclaimed new musicals from the songwriting team of Joe DiPietro and David Bryan. The Drama League (Jano Herbosch, President; Gabriel Shanks, Executive Director), announced the nominations for the 2009-10 Drama League Awards today at Sardi's with the help of Broadway stars Kelsey Grammer (La Cage Aux Folles) and Bebe Neuwirth (The Addams Family). The 76th Annual Drama League Awards Ceremony and Luncheon will take place on Friday, May 21, 2010 at 12:00pm at the Grand Ballroom of the Marriott Marquis Hotel in Times Square. The event will be co-hosted by Vanessa Williams (Sondheim on Sondheim) and Michael Urie (The Temperamentals).

The audience members attending the April 17th 2 PM performance of Memphis were given an extra special treat when Ramon Castro got on stage and proposed to his girlfriend Celeste Sanders. Castro quoted the show asking Sanders if she would be the woman to pick out his clothes for the rest of his life, a line used by Huey Calhoun.
