Artistic Director and Chief Executive of the National Youth Theatre, Paul Roseby, has today become an Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire and receives the prestigious Queen's award in recognition of his efforts and achievements at the National Youth Theatre.

LAMDA (London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art) presents its 2018 Summer Season featuring a diverse range of nine productions, playing across its three stages from 30 May. The programme of work will include world premieres, modern musicals and classic plays all performed by the graduating class of 2018 and the next generation of acting talent.

Recipients of the second annual Tonic Awards were announced tonight at an awards ceremony held at the May Fair Theatre hosted by Dame Jenni Murray. The awards celebrate the achievements of game-changing women in theatre and the performing arts, and significant organisations, projects and productions that redefine the role of women in the performing arts, both on and off stage. Tonic Theatre today announce the 2nd annual Tonic Awards, celebrating the achievements of game-changing women in theatre and the performing arts. The ceremony, which launched last year returns to the May Fair Theatre, at the May Fair Hotel on Monday 19 March 2018 hosted once again by Dame Jenni Murray. Attendees will include senior figures from across the theatre industry.

The Susan Smith Blackburn Prize has announced 10 Finalists for its prestigious playwriting award, the oldest and largest prize awarded to women playwrights writing in the English language. Chosen from over 150 nominated plays, the Finalists are:

Cleveland Play House (CPH) is proud to bring George Brant's Marie and Rosetta to the Allen Theatre stage. Marie and Rosetta chronicles the story of 2018 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Early Influence Inductee Sister Rosetta Tharpe and her counterpart Marie Knight as they changed the landscape of modern music. Miche Braden will make her return to Cleveland Play House as Sister Rosetta Tharpe alongside CPH newcomer Chaz Hodges as Marie Knight. Directed by Neil Pepe, Marie and Rosetta runs January 20 through February 11, 2018 in the Allen Theatre at Playhouse Square.

Tonic Theatre has just announced that Tony award-nominated director Phyllida Lloyd will complete the line-up for the latest Tonic Celebrates, which will take place at The Other Palace on Friday 24 November.

Actress Fenella Woolgar's work ranges from Handbagged and Circle Mirror Transformation to Home Fires and Doctor Who. She's currently starring in the stage adaptation of Patrick Hamilton's The Slaves of Solitude, about a boarding house in 1943 Henley-on-Thames, where Miss Roach, who endures daily torment from a fellow occupant, becomes involved with an American serviceman. The play is now in previews at Hampstead Theatre.

Tonic Theatre has just announced their fifth Tonic Celebrates event, featuring Olivier nominated actress Rosalie Craig and award-winning producer Danielle Tarento in conversation at The Other Palace on Friday 24 November.
