The Recording Academy today announced key promotions for some of its longtime executives. Most recently, Bill Freimuth has been named Senior Vice President, Awards, and Gaetano Frizzi becomes Chief Human Resources Officer. Previous promotions include Branden Chapman, who was named Executive In Charge of Production & Chief Business Development Officer; Rick Engdahl, who was named Chief Information Officer; and Daryl Friedman, who was named Chief Advocacy & Industry Relations Officer. All have many years of experience and tenure at The Recording Academy within their respective departments and these titles more accurately reflect what have become their current roles within The Academy and within their respective business communities. All five will continue to report directly to Neil Portnow, President/CEO of The Recording Academy.

The Shakespeare Theatre Company (STC) congratulates this year's recipients of the Emery Battis Acting Award, Patrick Page and Diane D'Aquila. Since 2010, STC has recognized two actors per season who have demonstrated exceptional skill and technique on the stage. Page and D'Aquila were praised for their incredible performances as the title role in Coriolanus and dual appearances as Volumnia in Coriolanus and the Countess in Wallenstein, respectively. The award was presented December 3, 2013 at the opening night dinner for STC's current mainstage production, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, hosted by the Board of Trustees.

El Rey Network in association with FactoryMade Ventures, today announced the production start of 'From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series,' the first scripted original to air on Robert Rodriguez's new genre-busting cable network set to debut this December. Based on his cult classic film of the same name, the supernatural crime saga, hour-long series (which will premiere on El Rey Network in Q1 2014) began filming in Austin this week with Rodriguez set to direct the first two installments.

According to an equity casting notice posted today, a workshop for the revamped production, set to be directed by PIPPIN's Diane Paulus, is set for Manhattan in 2014, featuring new songs by Gary Barlow and Eliot Kennedy. NEVERLAND previously held a workshop on August 26th, featuring Laura Michelle Kelly, Jason Alexander, Brian d'Arcy James and Kathleen Chalfant.
As BroadwayWorld reported last week, FINDING NEVERLAND is now aiming for a Spring 2014 run at A.R.T. in Boston before heading back to the West End, and on to Broadway. PIPPIN's Diane Paulus -- who is the Artistic Director of the A.R.T. -- is directing the production. Now, according to the New York Times, Broadway producer Barry Weissler will executive produce the project. Weissler recently worked with the A.R.T. and Paulus on the recent Tony-winning revival of Pippin.
