Dirty Dancing - The Classic Story On Stage officially opens a new production and North American tour at the Harris Center in Folsom, CA, tonight, October 5.

Ping Chong + Company has announced that founder and artistic director Ping Chong is one of the recipients of the 2017-2018 Ford Foundation Art of Change Fellowship.

After three successful years on tour boasting numerous sold out engagements, this new adaptation of the worldwide smash-hit film, currently celebrating its 30th Anniversary, will continue to dazzle in more than 50 markets in North America, including the Lehigh Valley at The State Theatre on June 21 and June 22, 2018.

Anurag Kashyap launched today the poster of Gurgaon, a noir thriller slated for a pan India release on 4th August 2017. The film is produced by JAR Pictures, the makers of award winning and internationally acclaimed films, Liar's Dice, Killa and Nil Battey Sannata.

By popular demand Steppenwolf's LookOut Series extends its rock 'n' roll production of the solo play, How To Be A Rock Critic (Based on the Writings of Lester Bangs) by award-winning theatre artists Jessica Blank and Erik Jensen, starring Erik Jensen (The Walking Dead, Mr. Robot) as Lester Bangs and directed by Jessica Blank (Made in Jersey, The Namesake). Described as "a fascinating window into one of the last century's most compelling and fearless critics," (Chicago Tribune), the 80-minute production continues for three additional performances through July 29, 2017 in the 1700 Theatre, situated behind Front Bar: Coffee & Drinks (drinks permitted in the theater).

Robbie Florian's farce, The Cadaver Synod: A Pope Musical will debut at this year's New York Musical Festival, playing from July 17 - 23 at The Acorn Theatre at Theatre Row (410 W 42nd Street). The Cadaver Synod is directed by Ryan Emmons with musical direction by Dan Garmon and choreography by Gina Duci. Tickets are $27.75 and can be purchased by visiting NYMF.org.

Berkeley Rep today announced that celebrated director Mira Nair will hold a free public event to discuss the creation of the world premiere musical, Monsoon Wedding. Audiences eager for the world premiere can get a sneak peek behind the scenes at Page to Stage on Monday, May 15 at 8pm. Page to Stage is free and open to the public but you must RSVP. Berkeley Repertory Theatre today announced the full and final casting for the world premiere of Monsoon Wedding. The musical stage production will be directed by acclaimed filmmaker Mira Nair and hosts a cast of 20 actors from around the globe.

On Saturday night, April 1, more than 350 of the Bay Area's finest arts supporters gathered at the Fairmont San Francisco to honor Berkeley Rep, the Tony Award-winning theatre company known for its innovative and challenging works. OVATION: Berkeley Rep Celebrates Monsoon Wedding raised $775,000 to support the Theatre's artistic and creative efforts, including education programming and the Theatre's attempts to promote active citizenry.

This spring, two shows that were developed at Berkeley Rep last season will debut on the New York stage. Amelie, A New Musical, which had its world premiere in September 2015, is set to open on Broadway at the Walter Kerr Theatre on April 3, 2017. John Leguizamo's Latin History for Morons, which had its world premiere in July 2016, will open at the renowned Public Theatre on March 27, 2017.

Performances of Monsoon Wedding begin Friday, May 5 in Berkeley Rep's Roda Theatre.
