THE FOOL'S LEAR Comes To IRT Theater In January

IRT Theater is thrilled to present the Oldest Boys Productions in association with Accidental Repertory Theater (John Strasberg, Artistic Director) production of THE FOOL'S LEAR, with text from William Shakespeare's King Lear, adapted and directed by H. Clark Kee. THE FOOL'S LEAR begins performances on Wednesday, January 9 for a limited engagement through Saturday, January 26. Press Opening is Friday, January 11 at 7:30 PM. The performance schedule is Wednesday - Saturday at 7:30 PM and Sunday at 3 PM; with added matinee performances on Saturday 1/19 and 1/26 at 2 PM. Performances are at the IRT Theater (154 Christopher Street, between Washington and Greenwich Streets, near the 1 and 2 trains at Christopher Street Station, and the A, B, C, D, and E at West 4th). FringeNYC, the adjudicated portion of the new NEW YORK INTERNATIONAL FRINGE FESTIVAL, begins performances tomorrow, October 12, 2018. The festival will offer 80 fully staged theater and dance productions at 10 venues in Manhattan;s West Village all centered around a new FringeHUB. Patrons for all performances begin their FringeNYC experience at the FringeHUB at 685 Washington Street (corner of Charles Street) and are ushered to their venue. Florencia Lozano Joins The Muse Project For Tea

Florencia Lozano joins The Muse Project for their inaugural Tea Time event on October 21st at 5:30pm at The Flea Theater in Tribeca. Tea Times are a one-of-a-kind Muse pilot program, and October 21st's Tea Time will cap off a week of exciting presentations from some of New York's most dynamic women performers (Musings: a collection of Mini Muse presentations). During Tea Times, a veteran stage actress (Ms. Lozano) discusses her experiences building her career. The Muse Project's Artistic Director, Jocelyn Kuritsky, will lead the discussion with Ms. Lozano. A q&a with attendees and tea (and cookies!) and networking to follow. This event is open to all, and it is also a special opportunity for women actors to network with Ms. Lozano, each other, and to seek insight and support.

The Muse Project, in association with The Tank, will present Musings: a collection of Mini Muse presentations at The Flea Theater as a part of their Anchor Partnership. Musings showcases the exciting, fresh, paradigm-shifting storytelling that New York's leading actresses have developed through intensive workshops. The Muse Project gives women performers the time, space, and opportunity to experiment with and explore their fantasy projects. Veteran performer Lynn Cohen will be investigating previously unexplored terrain with collaborator Lewis Black in his piece Dottie's Home. Recent Lucille Lortel nominee Vanessa Aspillaga and Obie winner Jessica Frances Dukes, alongside acclaimed directors Jose Zayas and Seret Scott, will dig into long hungered-for solo work.

Mike Daisey Returns To Seattle With A PEOPLE'S HISTORY

Seattle Repertory Theatre is excited to present famed monologist Mike Daisey's newest work, A People's History. In this series of 18 stand-alone monologues, Daisey uses his razor-sharp wit to explore a history of the U.S. he was not taught in high school. From the first landing of Columbus to the election of Donald Trump, Daisey will contrast his high school history book with Howard Zinn's electrifying A People's History Of The United States. Each night of the production will feature a fresh chapter from the history book - chapter content to be performed night to night will not be disclosed in advance of the performance as part of the experience. A People's History will run October 17 - November 25, 2018 (opening night isOctober 24) on the Leo K. stage - single tickets are on sale now (starting at $17) and are available through the Seattle Rep Box Office at 206.443.2222 or online at SeattleRep.org.
