This time last year, Mike Birbiglia was a well-respected comedian, author and playwright, thanks to his popular stand-up comedy concerts, his regular guest spots on public radio's This American Life, comedy CDs and his bestselling book, Sleepwalk With Me and Other Painfully True Stories (which he also turned into a long-running stage show). Fast forward to February 2012, and now Birbiglia has become an even bigger, more respected super-hyphenate as filmmaker, co-writer (along with Ira Glass), actor and director in his movie version of Sleepwalk With Me…which just won an award at the Sundance Film Festival.

Due to overwhelming demand, MSG Entertainment and Comedy Central announced today that Daniel Tosh, star of the Comedy Central hit show "Tosh.0," has added a second show at The Chicago Theatre on Thursday, April 19th, 2012 at 10:00pm in addition to the previously announced 7:00PM show on April 19th, 2012. Tickets will go on-sale to the general public Friday, February 3, 2012 at 10:00AM (CST).

The Englert Theatre announces new concerts coming to the theatre this May. The lineup features exciting performances by a diverse collection of performers. On Friday, May 11 Malian vocalist Khaira Arby will perform with Iowa City band Bermuda Report. Sierra Leone's Refugee All Stars return to the Englert on Friday, May 25. The subject of a critically acclaimed documentary, the Refugee All Stars have matured into one of Africa's top touring and recording bands. Finally, five-time Grammy award winning, guitar legend Robert Cray will perform Thursday, May 31.

DSI Comedy Theater Hosts 5th Annual Carolina’s Funniest Comic

DSI Comedy Theater will once again give audiences a chance to crown the funniest person in North Carolina as it hosts Carolina's Funniest. Now in its 5th year, this competition runs throughout the month of March. Shows are every Thursday and Friday at 9 p.m. 36 comedians will compete for $1500 in cash and prizes.
