National Theatre Wales is today (Thursday 23 November 2017) announcing its 2018 season of productions, including a month-long festival to celebrate the 70th birthday of the NHS, two productions reflecting on the migrant experience in and beyond Wales, the first two productions in a three-year cycle of experimental works, and a work-in-progress.
One of the true masterpieces of modern cinema, Federico Fellini's 1957 Oscar-winning film, LA STRADA (The Road), is being brought life on stage in a brand new adaptation directed by Olivier Award nominee Sally Cookson, with music composed by Benji Bower. The production received its world premiere at the Belgrade Theatre, Coventry, followed by a national tour. The show opened on 30 May in its London premiere at The Other Palace, the newest addition to Andrew Lloyd Webber's Really Useful Theatre Group, where it will run until 8 July 2017. National Theatre Wales' first production of 2017 will be inspired by and performed in Rhyl, in north Wales this March/April, in the company's tradition of making theatre productions with and for local communities.

Kit who trained in Opera has recently been seen as 'Bill Sikes' in "Oliver!" at the Watermill Theatre; "Dickens Abridged" at the Arts Theatre and 'Sir Lancelot' in "Spamalot" at the Harold Pinter Theatre and on tour.

Following his record-breaking tour of 'Rebecca', Nigel Havers is to star in a brand new production of Alan Bennett's award-winning comedy Single Spies. Starring alongside Nigel are Diana Quick, Jack Ryder, John Arthur, Thomas Eyre and Clive Flint. Single Spies opens at The Lowry in Salford on Tuesday March 11, prior to a major national tour.
