UCLA honors Liz Whitney for Jeanne Michiko Kubota Scholarship

Co-hosts Thomas Schumacher, Producer and President of Disney Theatrical Group and Teri Schwartz, Dean of UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television (TFT) will honor Elizabeth Kubota Whitney this Thursday, April 7 at New York's historic New Amsterdam Theater.

Arsenal Gallery Features WREATH INTERPRETATIONS, 12/9-1/6

Parks & Recreation is pleased to present the 28th annual Wreath Interpretations exhibition, a holiday tradition at the Arsenal Gallery in Central Park. It will open to the public on Thursday, December 9 and remain on display through January 6, 2011. Among the fine artists, horticulturalists, and other creative souls who have created this year's wreaths are artist Jennifer Cecere, the Horticultural Society of New York, and Parks' Monument Conservator John Saunders.

Craig & Mara to Lead 'Girl with Dragon Tattoo' Flick

Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara have been cast in the lead roles of Columbia Pictures' three-picture adaptation of Stieg Larsson's literary blockbuster The Millennium Trilogy under the direction of David Fincher. The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo - the first film of the series, which also includes The Girl Who Played With Fire and The Girl Who Kicked The Hornet's Nest - begins shooting next month in Sweden. The screenplay is written by Steve Zaillian and the film is being produced by Scott Rudin, Cean Chaffin, Ole Sondberg and Søren Stærmose. Mikael Wallen and Anni Fernandez are executive producers. The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo is set for worldwide release December 21, 2011.

The Strand Theater proudly presents its third season in the Station North Arts and Entertainment District, featuring a lineup of progressive female playwrights. 'Strong female voices are what have set the Strand apart from other local theaters,' states Artistic Director, Jayme Kilburn. 'In our third season we are celebrating our mission with a slate of plays by women that are rarely produced.'
