Rose Theatre Kingston today announces the full company for The Wars of the Roses. Goldilocks and the Three Bears is the second musical in the 'trilogy of trios' from the incredibly talented George Stiles and Anthony Drewe, alongside the previously released The Three Little Pigs and The Three Billy Goats Gruff which will make an appearance next year. This popular and well-known fairytale; Goldilocks is presented as a short 50-minute musical and provides fun for all ages, alongside being educational and moralistic for children.

Twelve student finalists from top drama schools across the UK competed for the title of this year's Stephen Sondheim Society Student Performer of the Year (SSSSPOTY), on Sunday 17th May at the Garrick Theatre in London's West End. Each student sung a song by Stephen Sondheim and, at his personal request, they each sang a new musical theatre song, written by members of Mercury Musical Developments and shortlisted for the Stiles & Drewe Best New Song Prize. Dopo anni di attesa (la produzione del film e stata annunciata nel 2012), resa ancor piu insostenibile dallo spostamento della data d'uscita dal 25 dicembre (come negli Stati Uniti) al 2 aprile, anche noi poveri e sconsolati italiani possiamo godere di questo spettacolo.
Per chi ancora non lo sapesse, 'Into The Woods' e un musical di Stephen Sondheim (musiche e testi) e James Lapine (libretto), che ha debuttato a San Diego nel 1986, per poi aprire a Broadway l'anno successivo. Vincitore complessivamente di 5 Tony Awards (tra il cast originale e il revival), 8 Drama Desks e, per le produzioni inglesi, 4 Olivier Awards, il musical s'ispira ai personaggi delle fiabe, tra cui Cappuccetto Rosso, Raperonzolo, Cenerentola e Jack (di Jack e il fagiolo magico). Le strade dei vari personaggi che animano questo mondo fiabesco s'intrecciano all'interno del bosco, simbolo della vita stessa, dove ognuno insegue il proprio desiderio.

West End theatres have raised over £83,000 for the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) Philippines Typhoon Appeal, it was announced today. Typhoon Haiyan wreaked devastation across the Philippines last November, affecting 14 million people and leaving 5 million homeless. Through a combination of audience collections, donations and a special gala performance, West End theatres have raised the funds for vital emergency aid and recovery work.
