Congratulations to BroadwayWorld.com (BWW) Philippines Awards' nominees, whose names are below, and were shortlisted from around 500 nomination entries sent from October 6 to 31.

TV: COME FLY AWAY Soars into the Pantages - Inside Opening Night!

The new Broadway musical and U.S. National Tour of COME FLY AWAY, conceived, choreographed, and directed by Tony Award-winner Twyla Tharp and featuring vocals by Frank Sinatra, made its Los Angeles debut at the Pantages Theatre Tuesday, October 25 for a strictly-limited 2 week engagement thru November 6, 2011. Michael Sterling, co-producer and Los Angeles correspondent for Broadway World TV, along with Associate Producer Jerry Evans of the JLE Media Group, Inc. covered the evening's festivities. The star-studded guest list included many of the late Sinatra's celebrity friends and family members. After attending the performance, Sterling said 'In short, the show is an intoxicating marriage of pure harmony and wedded bliss.'

James Earl Jones Wins 2011 Paul Robeson Award

Actors' Equity Association announced today that James Earl Jones is the recipient of the 2011 Paul Robeson Award. Created in 1971, the Award recognizes a person who best exemplifies the principles by which Mr. Robeson lived.

Judi Dench Promotes New Autobiography at the National Theatre, 12/9

Veteran stage and film actress Dame Judi Dench recently released her autobiography entitled 'And furthermore' in the UK. 'And Furthermore' was published by Weiderfeld & Nicolson and focuses on Dench's professional career as well as her 30-year marriage to actor Michael Williams who passed away in 2001 after succumbing to lung cancer. The book is set for release in the US in February 2011.

Four-time Tony Award-winning playwright Terrence McNally ('Master Class', 'Kiss of the Spiderwoman') was formally introduced to revered Filipino film and television actress Cherie Gil at the writer's home in Brooklyn, New York. Ms. Gil recently received rave reviews from both media critics and theatre-goers when she essayed the larger-than-life role of 'La Divina' Maria Callas thrice (two seasons in Manila and a touring production in Dumaguete City, Southern Philippines) in Mr. McNally's 1996 Tony Award-winning play 'Master Class'.

Theater Down South Pays Tribute To Sondheim, FORUM Runs Through 10/30

It's Manila's turn to greet musical theatre legend Stephen Sondheim a happy 80th birthday. Two Sondheim musicals are opening this month of October: one of which is prolific theatre company Atlantis Productions Inc.'s touring production of 'A Little Night Music', starring Philippine cinema's multi-award-winning actress Dawn Zulueta as Desirée Armfeldt; the other one is community theatre company Theater Down South's (TDS) production of 'A Funny Thing Happened On the Way to the Forum', featuring young thespians Chino Veguillas as Pseudolus, Jacob Kliatchko Gayanelo as Hero, and Carla Gonzalez as Philia.
