THEATER at Downtown Urban Arts Festival (DUAF) has announced the finalists for its 16th season to run at renowned venues in downtown Manhattan, New York City, during spring 2018.

'Physical Theatre' is now rapidly gaining popularity and finding its way into mainstream theatre in the United States.

BEE, a new work created by Melody Erfani and written by Sean Michael Welch, will be performed at HB Studio (120 Bank Street, West Village) as part of their First Floor Studio Residency Project for three weekends this fall, starting November 4th. Melody Erfani, artistic director of the LES Shakespeare Company directs a cast of eight in this compelling drama.

Japanese Butoh dance breathes new life into a tale of Lady Macbeth, as a part of United Solo Theatre Festival at Theatre Row (The Studio Theatre), 410 W. 42nd St., New York City, in an added performance on Sunday, Nov. 5th at 6 p.m. (original show slot, Oct. 3rd at 7:30pm, was sold out).

Yokko, the Japanese Butoh and theatre artist, returns United Solo this fall with her brand new show, Hide Your Fires, today, Oct. 3 at 7:30 p.m. at Theatre Row-The Studio Theatre. Yokko has been appearing United Solo since 2013, and this is the 4th season of being the official selection of this festival.
