La Jolla Playhouse announces its annual Gala will take place today, February 4, 2017 at the Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina. Highlighting the event will be a one-night-only concert presentation of the Playhouse-born, Broadway-bound musical Come From Away.

The second annual San Diego Theatre Week is gearing up to take place on stages across San Diego county from Sunday, February 26 - Sunday, March 5, 2017. Participating performing arts groups will be offering a variety of special promotions for audience members. La Jolla Playhouse announces a special engagement of the critically-acclaimed one-woman show, The Wholehearted, written and co-directed by UC San Diego Department of Theatre and Dance professor Deborah Stein (The Bitter Game), performed and co-directed by Suli Holum. Presented in association with Center Theatre Group, the show runs in the Sheila and Hughes Potiker Theatre December 14 - 18. Commissioned by the Playhouse, this world-premiere play for young audiences will also have four public performances on March 25 & 26, 2017 at 1:00pm and 3:00pm in the Playhouse's Sheila and Hughes Potiker Theatre.

Theatre Communications Group (TCG), the national organization for theatre, announces Kevin Moriarty, artistic director of Dallas Theater Center, as its new board chair, taking over the position from Diane Rodriguez, associate artistic director of Center Theatre Group.
