Kate Wetherhead Hosts NAMT's SONGWRITERS SHOWCASE Today

National Alliance for Musical Theatre presents the SONGWRITERS CABARET and SONGWRITERS SHOWCASE hosted by Drama Desk Nominee Kate Wetherhead, which are part of the 28th annual FESTIVAL OF NEW MUSICALS.

New York, New York: National Alliance for Musical Theatre (Betsy King Militello, Executive Director) is thrilled to announce the first round of casting for the 28th Annual FESTIVAL OF NEW MUSICALS, which takes place on Today, October 27 and Friday, October 28, 2016 at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street, between 8th and 9th Avenues). The Festival will kick off on Wednesday, October 26 with its celebrated concert, The 46th Minute, which features songs from Festival shows you will not get to hear in the 45-minute presentation.

As COME FROM AWAY Heads to Broadway Sheridan's Canadian Music Theatre Project Announces Three New Musicals

Sheridan College's Canadian Music Theatre Project (CMTP), under the leadership of Michael Rubinoff, Associate Dean of Visual and Performing Arts, is an international centre of excellence for the development of new musicals in Canada. Since its inception in 2011, 15 shows have been incubated, with four having enjoyed their professional premieres (Come From Away, The Theory of Relativity, Prom Queen and Marathon of Hope) and one opening on Broadway in 2017 (Come From Away). Breaking News: COME FROM AWAY Lands Its Home on Broadway!

Junkyard Dog Productions announced today that the new musical COME FROM AWAY will begin performances on Broadway on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre (236 West 45th Street) and officially open Sunday, March 12, 2017, following productions at Washington DC's Ford's Theatre (Friday, September 2 - Sunday, October 16, 2016) and Toronto's Royal Alexandra Theatre (Tuesday, November 15, 2016 - Sunday, January 8, 2017), and two special benefit concert performances in Gander, Newfoundland (Saturday, October 29, 2016).

The producers of COME FROM AWAY announced today that they will honor the residents of Newfoundland and Labrador and the 'come from aways' whose lives inspired the new musical COME FROM AWAY with two special benefit concert performances at Gander's hockey arena, The Steele Community Centre (155 Airport Boulevard, Gander, NL), on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at 3pm (NDT) and 8pm (NDT). The benefit concerts, presented in association with the Town of Gander, NL, will star the cast of the Broadway and Toronto productions of COME FROM AWAY. Tickets are now on sale for the two benefit concert performances of COME FROM AWAY in Gander, NL and are $20. Junkyard Dog Productions announced today that the new musical Come From Away will premiere on Broadway in the spring of 2017 at a theatre to be announced following productions at Washington DC's Ford's Theatre as part of their 2016-2017 season from Friday, September 2 - Sunday, October 9, 2016, and in Toronto as part of the Mirvish Theatre's 2016-2017 Subscription Series from Tuesday, November 15, 2016 - Sunday, January 1, 2017, at a Mirvish Theatre to be announced.
