CBS has greenlit a new crime drama, KILLER INSTINCT. The pilot will star and be executive produced by former 'Good Wife' star and Broadway vet Alan Cumming. 

Alan Cumming will star and executive produce a new CBS crime drama series DR. DEATH. Based on the upcoming book of the same name by James Patterson, the series will be scripted by Michael Rauch, who will also serve as showrunner.

Superstar violinist Joshua Bell makes a very special guest appearance on the TV Series 'Royal Pains,' airing on the USA Network on Wednesday, June 29. Playing himself, Bell performs an original song by Tom Kitt (Next to Normal, If/Then) in a scene with Cloris Leachman, who guest stars as a London West End diva. Also making special guest appearances are Henry Winkler and Tony winner Christine Ebersole.

The doctor is still in! USA Network announced today that it has greenlit two new seasons for the concierge doctor series, ROYAL PAINS. Seasons seven and eight will each feature eight all new episodes. The popular drama, which wrapped its sixth season on September 2, remains a top 10 series on its night, averaging 3.36M total viewers. The series will celebrate its 100th episode in season eight.

Actress/producer/writer Diane Farr (“Rescue Me,” “Numb8rs”) will guest in the sixth season of ROYAL PAINS which returns this summer with 13 all new episodes.

Farr will guest star on the show's current sixth season, and will take on the role of a 'private investigator who fears that her illness may prevent her from solving the most important case of her career. Farr will appear in episode 604 of the show, which centers on a concierge doctor in the Hamptons.'

Universal Cable Productions (UCP) continues to align itself with the industry's hottest talent, adding two new pod deals to its growing all-star roster. Steve Carell's Carousel Television and Jessica Biel's Iron Ocean Productions join UCP with exclusive development deals; it was announced today by Jeff Wachtel, President and Chief Content Officer, NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment Group.
