Created by and starring husband-and-wife team Michael Paul Smith and Gillian Pensavalle, 'The Residuals' is inspired by their experiences as actors auditioning for commercials in New York City. Season One episodes average about 7 minutes and give viewers an inside view at the bizarre world of auditions, callbacks, costume fittings and commercial shoots. One of the highlights of this spring for me has been stumbling across the hysterical new webseries, THE RESIDUALS, and through social media, connecting with its creators. I have been fortunate enough to talk to many of the show's cast members for BWW articles (I will put links at the end of this one). I recently spoke to Nick Costa, who plays main character Pete's roommate Keith, about his experience with THE RESIDUALS and his own webseries THE COFFEE SHOP SHOW.
As a general journalistic rule, if you are going to be writing an article, a stand-up comic is a terrible interview subject if you are looking for controlled, measured responses.
