Yesterday evening, May 4, stage and screen actor Bryan Batt hosted a book signing release party at Covet Lounge in Manhattan. Batt's autobiography, 'She Ain't Heavy, She's My Mother: A Memoir' was released on May 4, 2010 by Random House and is now available wherever books are sold in both online and retail outlets. BroadwayWorld was on hand to celebrate the event.

Tony Award-winning actor and LGBT advocate Alan Cumming hosted Live Out Loud's Ninth Annual Young Trailblazers Benefit Gala on Monday, April 26th. More than 500 community leaders attended the event, which will took place at the Chelsea Art Museum. The annual event culminated with the awarding of $2500 scholarships to four high school seniors who have demonstrated outstanding leadership skills. The recipients this year are Eric Multer, Brandyn Brunelle, Chelsea Schade, and John Dargan.
