WET Announces Casting for 2009 INKubator Summer Series

After a 48 year absence, Bye Bye Birdie will return to Broadway this fall presented by Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director) in a production starring John Stamos (Albert Peterson), Gina Gershon (Rose Alvarez), Bill Irwin (Mr. Harry MacAfee) and Jayne Houdyshell (Mrs. Mae Peterson). Directed & choreographed by Robert Longbottom, Bye Bye Birdie has a book by Michael Stewart, lyrics by Lee Adams and music by Charles Strouse. Roundabout is proud to welcome back three artists who have previously worked at the theatrical institution: John Stamos, Gina Gershon and Bill Irwin.
Hang On is a spectacular new family production, which will catapult the audience into an aerial world of dizzying new thrills, where the impossible becomes possible. A first time co-production between two award winning companies - children's theatre company Theatre-Rites and aerialists Ockahm's Razor, Hang On will mix contemporary circus, movement humour and live percussion to create a new magical production for adults and children aged five plus.

Additional casting has been announced for the Donmar Warehouse production of MARY STUART, Friedrich Schiller's classic play in a new version by Peter Oswald, which opens April 19, 2009 at the Broadhurst Theatre (235 West 44th Street). The production, starring its acclaimed original London leads Janet McTeer and Harriet Walter and directed by Phyllida Lloyd, begins previews on March 30, 2009 for a limited run of 20 weeks only.

Playwrights Horizons has announced a cast change for the New York premiere of Dead Man's Cell Phone, a new play by Pulitzer Prize finalist Sarah Ruhl (The Clean House, Eurydice). Drama Desk Award winner and Playwrights Horizons alum T. Ryder Smith will assume the role of Gordon (the 'dead man' of the title) beginning Tuesday, February 19.
