Capitol City Opera Company (CCOC) will endeavor to "dream the impossible dream" with Man of La Mancha, the Tony Award-winning musical based on Cervantes' epic 17th-century novel, Don Quixote on Friday, March 24 at 8 p.m., Saturday, March 25 at 8 p.m., and Sunday, March 26 at 3 p.m. at Conant Performing Arts Center at Oglethorpe University.

THE NORMAL HEART, Larry Kramer's autobiographical account of the onset of the HIV-AIDS crisis in New York City in the mid-eighties, is to play Amsterdam for the limited run of two weeks. The play, featuring a host of Dutch stage and screen actors, will be staged in the De La Mar theatre, opening today, July 30.

An expanded live music component with concerts by Lydia Loveless, Corey Harris, Pontiak and a Funk Rock Soul triple bill with the funky METERS, Greyboy Allstars and JC Brooks & the Uptown Sound; CIMMpathy for The Stones, celebrating The Rolling Stones' 50 years of music on film; a special film section, award ceremony and concert with maverick filmmaker Melvin Van Peebles; an evening of music and movies with the legendary Van Dyke Parks and his filmmaker son, Richard; a Blues film section; 11 World Premiere screenings; and much more highlight the 5th annual Chicago International Movies & Music Festival (CIMMfest No. 5). Deadline reports that Jim Parsons and Taylor Kitsch have signed on to the Ryan Murphy-helmed HBO film THE NORMAL HEART. The actors join previously announced cast members Julia Roberts, Mark Ruffalo and Matt Bomer in the cable network's original movie adaptation of the Tony-winning Larry Kramer play.
