Sierra Boggess (The Little Mermaid), Hugh Panaro (currently starring in the title role in The Phantom of the Opera) and Carolee Carmello (The Addams Family) will headline an upcoming industry reading of the Broadway-bound musical REBECCA on Friday, March 18 in New York, directed by Tony Award winner Michael Blakemore and Francesca Zambello.
Michael Riedel reports in the New York Post this morning that Love Never Dies star Sierra Boggess will headline the 16 million production of Rebecca, The Musical, based on the eponymous Daphne du Maurier novel. Boggess also lead a recent industry reading of the show.

Reports are that multiple production companies in Belgium oppose the show being given a €2.5 million government grant, and have asked for that support to be suspended. An investigation is now underway.

The signing took place in front of the sold-out re-opening night audience for REBECCA following the performance with Sprecher, Forlenza, VBW Artistic Director Kathrin Zechner and Manager Thomas Drozda. REBECCA, based on the classic Daphne Du Maurier novel (and later turned into an Oscar-winning film by Alfred Hitchcock) features book and lyrics by Michael Kunze, music by Sylvester Levay, and direction by Francesca Zambello, director of Broadway's The Little Mermaid and the new musical Little House on the Prairie, which just had its world premiere at the Guthrie Theatre in Minneapolis.
