Howard McGillin Replaces John Dossett in Broadway-Bound REBECCA

Two-time Tony Award nominee Howard McGillin has joined the cast of the upcoming new musical REBECCA, based on the classic novel by Daphne du Maurier novel, opening on Broadway Sunday, April 22 at The Broadhurst Theatre (235 West 44th Street). Previews will begin Tuesday, March 27. McGillin will play the role of Frank Crawley, replacing previously announced John Dossett (who will appear in another show this season). McGillin joins Sierra Boggess ("I"), Tam Mutu (Maxim deWinter), Karen Mason (Mrs. Danvers), James Barbour (Jack Favell), Donna English (Beatrice de Winter), Nick Wyman (Giles) and Henry Stram (Ben).

Additional principal casting has been announced for the upcoming new musical REBECCA, based on the classic novel by Daphne Du Maurier novel, opening on Broadway Sunday, April 22 at The Broadhurst Theatre. Joining Sierra Boggess (previously announced for the leading role of "I") are Tam Mutu (Love Never Dies in the West End) as Maxim de Winter, Karen Mason (Sunset Boulevard, Mamma Mia!) as Mrs. Danvers, James Barbour (Beauty and the Beast, A Tale of Two Cities) as Jack Favell, John Dossett (Gypsy) as Frank Crawley, Donna English (Lend Me A Tenor) as Beatrice de Winter and Nick Wyman (Les Miserables) as Giles. Previews will begin Tuesday, March 27.

BroadwayWorld.com has confirmed that James Barbour has joined the cast of REBECCA on Broadway, in the featured role of 'Jack Favel'. He joins the only other casting officially confirmed by the production of Sierra Boggess in the lead role of 'I'.

Previews will begin Tuesday, March 27. Sierra Boggess (The Little Mermaid, Love Never Dies, Master Class and as Christine in last month's 25th Anniversary Concert of The Phantom of the Opera in London) will play the lead role of 'I'. Dance of the Vampires (or Tanz der Vampire as the original German language version is named) is a musical remake of a 1967 Roman Polanski film of the same name (called The Fearless Vampire Killers in the USA). Polanski also directed the original German production of this musical. Music was composed by Jim Steinman and orchestrated by Steve Margoshes, and original German book and lyrics were written by Michael Kunze. The following photos are from the movie premiere in Stuttgart.

STAGE TUBE: Rehearsals begin for Dans der Vampieren

Rehearsals are now underway for Dans der Vampieren in Belgium. Dans der Vampieren, an adaptation of TANZ DER VAMPIRE which was to open in Belgium, has been delayed. Reports are that multiple production companies in Belgium oppose the show being given a €2.5 million government grant, and have asked for that support to be suspended. An investigation is now underway.
