The newest musical to grace the stage at Bucks County Playhouse is SUMMER OF '42. This musical is based on the novel and 1971 film of the same name. Herman Raucher wrote the novel and screenplay. Hunter Foster (URINETOWN, HANDS ON A HARBODY) wrote the book for this musical and David Kirshenbaum wrote the music and lyrics. Foster also directs this production. SUMMER OF '42 is a coming of age story that reminds audiences about the innocence of youth. SUMMER OF '42 is a heartfelt story, and Bucks County Playhouse's production of this show is full of heart, humor, and heartbreak.

Spending five weeks inside the iTunes top 100 pop albums, Drew Gasparini's I Could Use a Drink will return to where it all began at Joe's Pub, for a live performance of album hits, as well tunes still hot off the presses. But here's the catch; audiences will get a glimpse of Gasparini's singer/songwriter catalogue in addition to crowd favourites presented in an exclusive and intimate performance.

#UntitledPopMusical, the new musical conceived and written by Michael Kimmel (The Last Goodbye), with music and lyrics by Drew Gasparini (Smash) will have it's debut concert at (Le) Poisson Rouge (158 Bleecker Street, between Thompson and Sullivan), tonight, June 24th 2013 at 7pm. The concert will feature Julia Mattison (Godspell), Lauren Pritchard (Spring Awakening), Lisa Brescia (Wicked, Mama Mia), Andrew Kober (Hair) and F. Michael Haynie (Wicked, Dogfight). Produced by the Wild Project, tickets are $20 and can be purchased at the door or at www.lprnyc.com.

Emmy Award-winner Carol Kane will return to the Broadway production of WICKED as Madame Morrible, starting performances on Monday, July 1, 2013. Ms. Kane has previously performed the role on Broadway, in Los Angeles, and on tour. Fresh off the national tour of WICKED, Michael Wartella will assume the role of Boq, beginning performances onTuesday, June 25.

Last night, June 18, WICKED's current cast members, including Lindsay Mendez (Elphaba) and Derek Klena (Fiyero) gathered at the Gershwin theatre to commemorate the show's the 4,000th performance. BroadwayWorld was there for the special celebration and you can check out full photo coverage below!

'Smash' star Krysta Rodriguez will lead an all-star group of Broadway talent who will perform as part of 'Made For Each Other: Broadway Meets Andrew McMahon,' tonight (Saturday, June 15th) at 54 Below.

Coming up this week, 54 BELOW, the performance venue located just below the legendary Studio 54 at 254 West 54th Street, presents some of the brightest stars from Broadway, cabaret, jazz and beyond. 54 Below also launched its series of late night events. Lindsay Mendez and Derek Klena recently joined the cast of Wicked, assuming the roles of Elphaba and Fiyero. They join a cast which includes Katie Rose Clarke as Glinda, Randy Danson as Madame Morrible, Adam Grupper as The Wizard, Catherine Charlebois as Nessarose, F. Beginning performances today, May 28, 2013, Lindsay Mendez will assume the role of Elphaba in the Broadway production of WICKED. Ms. Mendez has previously worked with both the composer and director of WICKED, having appeared in the 2011 Broadway revival of Stephen Schwartz's Godspell, and, more recently, giving a breakout performance in the world premiere musical, Dogfight, staged by WICKED director Joe Mantello.
