Hennepin Theatre Trust has announced that the U.S. National tour of the hit musical, THE BODYGUARD, launches in Minneapolis as part of the 2016-2017 Bank of America Broadway on Hennepin Season Jan. 10-15, 2017 at the historic Orpheum Theatre.

CAPA and Broadway in Columbus are is delighted to announce that the first US national tour of the hit musical THE BODYGUARD, will play the Ohio Theatre February 14-19. Grammy Award-nominated and multi-platinum R&B/pop recording artist and film/TV actress Deborah Cox will star as Rachel Marron.

The New York Times was first to report that celebratory plans have been set for the groundbreaking musical HAIR's 50th Anniversary which will take place on January 21, 2017 at La MaMa. The event will include original cast members (Natalie Mosco; Allan Nicholls; the Rev. Marjorie Lipari; and Dale Soules), Andre De Shields, the show's creators Galt MacDermot and James Rado and more.

Fifth Third Bank Broadway in Atlanta is delighted to announce that the first U.S. National tour of the hit musical THE BODYGUARD will play at Atlanta's Fox Theatre from March 28 - April 2 as part of the 2016/2017 season.

To celebrate the opening of Dick Whittington in Birmingham, principal cast members JOHN BARROWMAN, STEVE MCFADDEN, THE KRANKIES, JODIE PRENGER, MATT SLACK, ANDREW RYAN and DANIELLE HOPE took to the Birmingham Hippodrome stage for a fairy-tale appearance earlier this afternoon in countdown to the opening performance at 2.30pm on Monday 19 December. The Fox Cities Performing Arts Center will welcome the first U.S. National tour of the hit musical THE BODYGUARD. The show will play Fox Cities P.A.C. from January 17-22. 

Roomful of Teeth, a GRAMMY-winning vocal project dedicated to mining the expressive potential of the human voice, will perform at Swarthmore College on Sunday, Feb. 26, 2017 at 7:30 p.m. in the Lang Music Building, Concert Hall. The event is free and open to the public, but reservations will be available starting February 1.  More information on making a reservation can be found at: http://bit.ly/2gGjJB4

Much in the same vein as Arthur's Miller The Crucible, DEVIL'S SALT presents a tale about witchcraft in which a young woman is accused of consorting with the devil and forced to give her life just for being who she is, a modern-thinking woman before her time. Jovanka Bach's World Premiere drama, directed and produced by her husband John Stark as a guest production at the Odyssey Theatre, is set in the 17th Century in the King James Colony of Plymouth Bay in New England, a very Puritanical community in which Hannah Mulwray, a young woman who acts as a mid-wife, is brought to trial for witchcraft. Her main accuser, Hooker Wainwright, is the Governor of the colony and a man driven by religious zealotry and his own sexual obsession ignited by witnessing Hannah and her husband William (handsome Robert Brettenaugh) making love in the forest. And since he cannot accept the sexual excitement he feels as anything other than the devil, poor Hannah is doomed to suffer just for being a free-spirited being.
