Celebrating over 20 years of acclaimed musical theatre training for young thespians, the Centenary Stage Company's Young Performers Workshop Summer Session registration is now open to new and returning applicants.
Centenary Stage Company's Young Performers work tirelessly to perfect their dance moves, learn all of their lines, and get their vocal harmonies just right for the culmination of their training session and this spring is no exception! These talented young thespians between the ages of 8 and 18 will fill the Little Theater with a variety of shows and musicals to entertain audiences of all ages May 29th - June 7th with their annual Spring Festival of Shows. The Young Performers Workshop (YPW) has been hailed as a 'state treasure' by Peter Filichia of the Star Ledger and brings in youth from Morris, Warren, Hunterdon and Sussex counties. This spring, the festival will feature How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying, Gypsy, and American Sampler: 100 Years of Broadway Dance. Performances will be held on select dates in the Little Theatre on the campus of Centenary College at 400 Jefferson Street in Hackettstown.
Alan Simon returns to the Laurie Beechman Theatre on January 27th and February 3rd, 2015 at 7pm in A Woman's Touch featuring Rebecca Holt (Broadway revival of How To Succeed...), Kristin Feeney (Goodspeed Opera House) and Kelsey Landon (The Acting Company) in a festive entertainment with humor, heart and hijinks.

This season's selection offers a variety of musicals perfect for the whole family and includes The Clown, Babes in Arms and 13 The Musical. The music of singer/composer Alex Maxwell comes to NYC's premier cabaret venue Stage 72 at the Triad, on April 4th @ 7PM in his original show 'Alex Maxwell Plays With Himself, . . . Tonight'. The one-man show features Maxwell accompanying himself in an evening that presents a full set of original solo tracks by the Jersey artist who has recently migrated to the city. Stripped down, raw, and unfiltered his songs are laced with wit and invoke an honest look at behaviors and the human condition. Maxwell has been inspired by a plethora of artists from Lennon to Neil Young to Dylan and Cobain and has created a progressive twist on the sound of these timeless classics in the shape of Country Grunge Folk, a hybrid genre evolving all over the Tri-State area.
The Group Theatre Too (GTT) presents its seventh annual Choreographer's Canvas, a one- night event featuring the works of over fifteen established and emerging choreographers from around the country. The Canvas, headed by GTT Executive Producer Justin Boccitto, will play at the Manhattan Movement and Arts Center Friday, May 2nd and showcase many styles of dance including tap, ballet, jazz, hip-hop, contemporary, theatre dance, aerial and this year bellydancing. For the past 6 years the Canvas has presented over 75 choreographers, giving opportunity to over 500 dancers performing to sold-out houses. The event is sponsored by Broadway Dance Center, Capezio, Manhattan Movement and the Society of Directors and Choreographers as well as numerous arts philanthropists.

Performer, Daryl Taylor-Hazel brings his Florida musical act to New York City's premier cabaret theater, Stage 72 at The Triad on March 14th, at 7PM, Daryl's act, that's been called a 'zippy, entertaining show' features scads of popular songs made famous by singing television variety show hosts during the golden era of TV. The one-man show features Taylor-Hazel who has been crowned 'The Ambassador of Song' by Rosie O'Grady's on Church Street Station in Orlando.
