TheatreZone Artistic Director Mark Danni today announced the addition of two performances: a Saturday matinee of the production of Whistle Down the Wind on January 18th at 2 pm, and a Saturday matinee of the production of High Society on Saturday, February 15th, 2014 at 2 pm.

Amas Musical Theatre (Donna Trinkoff/Artistic Producer) will present three free staged readings of "FRIDA" a new musical by Michael Aman and Dana P. Rowe, directed by Maria Torres. The readings will take place on Friday, October 25th at 6:00pm, and Saturday, October 26th at 3:00pm and 7:00pm at The Theatre at the 14th Street Y, 314 East 14th Street. Internationally renowned tenor Michael Amante, affectionately known as "The People's Tenor," and one of the touring New York Tenors, will play the Freddie Trumper role as a lonely American chess wizard in TheatreZone's production of Chess - the Musical today announced artistic director Mark Danni. The Unbleached American tells the story of Ernest Hogan, the 'father of ragtime' and the first African American to perform on Broadway. Beloved by his fans and wealthy beyond his wildest dreams, Hogan was also an infamous writer of 'coon songs' that many considered offensive to his own race. The Unbleached American imagines the relationship between Ernest and the woman sent to care for him at the end of his life.
