Those who miss the patter of little urbanites that made Thursday night sitcoms so popular in the 1990s should welcome the arrival of Jonathan Marc Sherman's angsty new comedy, Knickerbocker; a play generously populated by an assortment of smart, funny and hip New Yorkers whose charm lies in their ability to over-think.

The Public Theater (Artistic Director Oskar Eustis; Interim Executive Director Joey Parnes) announced casting today for the New York premiere of KNICKERBOCKER, written by Jonathan Marc Sherman and directed by Pippin Parker. The final show in the 2010-2011 Public LAB season, KNICKERBOCKER will run Friday, May 6 through Sunday, May 29, with an official press opening on Thursday, May 19. Single tickets go on sale on March 30; Public Theater member tickets on sale beginning March 17. All tickets for Public LAB productions are $15.

The five-time Tony-nominated production of '33 Variations,' with Jane Fonda, opened February 9, 2011, at 8 p.m. at the CTG/Ahmanson Theatre. Written and directed by Moisés Kaufman, performances continue through March 6 for this compelling new piece.

The cast for "A Pretty Filthy Evening," to be held February 5 at 9 p.m., at the Kirk Douglas Theatre, will feature (in alphabetical order) Mia Barron ("The Venture Bros.," "The Coast of Utopia"), Chris Butler ("The Good Wife," "Criminal Minds"), Kathryn Hahn ("Hung," "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days"), Rashida Jones ("Parks and Recreation," "The Social Network"), Paul Provenza ("Northern Exposure," "The West Wing"), Emily Swallow ("Southland," "The Lucky Ones"), Sam Trammell ("True Blood," "Alien vs. Predator: Requiem"), Steven Weber ("Wings," "Brothers & Sisters"), Rutina Wesley ("True Blood," "How She Move") and Bess Wohl (who is writing the book for the upcoming musical "Pretty Filthy").

The Acting Company will present a staged reading of George S. Kaufman and Ring Lardner's 1929 hit musical June Moon filled with fun, frolic and hit songs such as Button Up Your Overcoat. Tony-winner John Rando (Urinetown, The Dinner Party, The Wedding Singer) will direct Kaufman's great grandson, James Patrick Cronin (Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival and National Comedy Theatre) and a cast of Broadway regulars including six Acting Company Alums at the Mainstage Theater at Playwrights Horizons at 7pm, Monday, January 24. Tickets for the benefit evening are $35 and $60 and include a reception with the cast following the performance.
