Once a year the Vienna Concert Hall (Wiener Konzerthaus) turns into a hot spot for film and music fans, during the annual Hollywood in Vienna gala. This year, Sandra Tomek, the organizer and founder of Hollywood in Vienna invited one of the greatest to Vienna, Hans Zimmer.

Comedian-Actor Zainab Johnson to Host the NBCUniversal SHORT FILM FESTIVAL Finale

Comedian-actor Zainab Johnson (“Late Night with Seth Meyers,” HBO's “All Def Comedy”) is set to host the finale screening and awards ceremony of the 13th Annual NBCUniversal SHORT FILM FESTIVAL on October 24, 2018 at the Directors Guild of America in Hollywood. The festival which is part of the network's talent infusion programs (NBC TIPS) celebrates diverse stories while finding the next generation of storytellers. Festival alumni include Steven Caple Jr. (“Creed 2”), Hasan Minhaj (“The Daily Show”), Randall Park (“Fresh Off the Boat”) and Simone Missick (“Luke Cage”).

Critically Acclaimed FAMOUS Extends Again

World premiere of Famous, a new play - Extended through Dec. 2 at The 11:11, a new, state of the art venue in West Hollywood. Set in Los Angeles, 1994, Famous exposes an industry fueled by sex, money, and power, and reveals the true cost of fame. Michael Leoni (Elevator) directs this uniquely theatrical experience.

BWW Review: WE WILL NOT BE SILENT: A Rallying Cry For The Resistance

New Repertory Theatre's mission is "to produce plays that speak powerfully to the vital ideas of our time," a statement which they adhere to vigorously. In this season, under the theme of "Awakening," New Rep presents the New England premiere of WE WILL NOT BE SILENT, a docudrama by playwright David Meyers. Based on true events, the play focuses on one young German woman's resistance to Hitler and the Nazi party, her determination to maintain her principles and integrity in the face of grueling interrogation, and the price of her righteousness. Under the direction of Artistic Director Jim Petosa, with ever-increasing tension and drama, Sarah Oakes Muirhead and Tim Spears give riveting performances as the detainee and the detective who holds her destiny in his hands.

NBC Dominates Wednesday Night with CHICAGO Dramas

NBC wins the night in total viewers, growing +1.9 million persons or +34% versus the same Wednesday last year (7.508 million vs. 5.616 million on Oct. 18, 2017).  NBC's margin of victory for the night was +1.7 million viewers or +30% (7.508 million vs. 5.909 million for #2 CBS).

Peak Performances Presents World Premiere of Liz Gerring's FIELD

Peak Performances continues its galvanizing 2018-19 season with Liz Gerring Dance Company's field (October 18-21), the final installment in a trilogy of works Peak Performances has commissioned from the acclaimed choreographer. This work of movement, sound, and light marks the third collaboration between Liz Gerring, composer Michael J. Schumacher, and designer Robert Wierzel, following 2013's glacier and 2015's horizon.

Courtney Barnett To Play LATE NIGHT and CBS THIS MORNING, Plus Nominated For 9 Aria Awards

Courtney Barnett is returning to US television screens when she plays Late Night with Seth Meyers on Monday and will again grace the CBS This Morning - Saturday studio the following week. Barnett is in the middle of a scorching North American tour selling out shows and electrifying fans every step of the way. The LA Times raved “...she's nearly a loose cannon — brandishing her electric guitar as if it were chopping wood and coaxing snarling solos from it.”

Paula Jai Parker And Art Evans To Star In FEEDING A MONSTER

Actors Paula Jai Parker and Art Evans are no stranger to the entertainment industry. Parker has had a number of supporting roles in films including "Friday," "Hustle & Flow," and "Why Do Fools Fall in Love." Evans has made multiple film and television program appearances which have included "Die Hard 2," "Friday Night," and "In the Heat of The Night." ABC News' “Nightline” ranked No. 1 in Total Viewers (1.371 million), Adults 25-54 (484,000), and Adults 18-49 (374,000), during the week of Oct. 8, 2018, based on Live + Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. 

THE TONIGHT SHOW Wins Late Night Ratings for Week of 10/8-12

“The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” has won the late-night ratings week of Oct. 8-12 in the key adult 18-49 demographic, as well as total viewers, according to “live plus same day” figures from Nielsen Media Research.

NBC Wins Monday Night with THE VOICE and MANIFEST

NBC ranks #1 for the night among the Big 4 networks in adults 18-49, total viewers and every other key measure, winning six of six half-hours among those nets in 18-49 and total viewers.  

Juilliard Celebrates 100 Years Of Pre-College

Juilliard Pre-College, under the direction of artistic director Yoheved Kaplinsky, celebrates its centennial season with a gala evening on Monday, November 5. Juilliard presents An Evening Celebrating 100 Years of the Juilliard Pre-College Division, featuring distinguished conductor Robert Spano, music director of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, leading the Juilliard Pre-College Orchestra in a concert with Juilliard faculty member and Pre-College piano alumnus Emanuel Ax, at 7pm in Alice Tully Hall. The program includes Bernstein's Overture to Candide; Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 5 in E-flat Major, Op. 73 ("Emperor"); and Rimsky-Korsakov's Capriccio espagnol, Op. 34, with additional performances by Pre-College students and alumni.

BWW Review: Halloween Comes Early with Kallor's FRANKENSTEIN and Poe in Green-Wood Cemetery

I grew up with many versions of the Frankenstein story--some with greater nods to Mary Shelley's novel than others--spending Saturday afternoons being scared witless and loving every minute of it. But I was changed forever by Mel Brooks' YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN, making it hard to come to the story of monster and master today with fresh eyes and ears, no matter how serious the intentions. But Gregg Kallor's SKETCHES FROM FRANKENSTEIN, which played last week in the catacombs of Brooklyn's Green-Wood Cemetery, managed to do it.

LAMDA Launches West Coast Patrons Program

On Wednesday October 10, LAMDA Alumnus John Lithgow and LAMDA Chair The Rt Hon Shaun Woodward launched the American Friends of LAMDA (AFLAMDA) West Coast Program at the drama school's annual US showcase in West Hollywood. LAMDA is committed to selecting the most talented students, regardless of background or financial circumstance. Patrons will join the program for $1500 or $2500 a year, with their support contributing to LAMDA's Scholarship Fund to assist American students.

Owen Wilson and Michael Keaton to Star in Cult-Themed Episode of DOCUMENTARY NOW!

IFC announced that Michael Keaton (Birdman) and Owen Wilson (Zoolander) will star alongside Necar Zadegan (Here and Now) in an upcoming two-part episode of Documentary Now!, the Emmy(R)-nominated comedy known for lovingly paying homage to the world of documentaries. The episode titled, 'Batsh*t Valley,' will headline Season 52's seven-episode lineup, with both parts premiering back-to-back on Wednesday February 20 at 10PM. Documentary Now! is co-created by Fred Armisen, Bill Hader, Seth Meyers and Rhys Thomas and executive produced by Lorne Michaels.
