Fairly outdated morals go hand in hand with a strikingly modern laddish attitude, while a melodramatic ending eagerly awaits. It’s a relatively wordy and stuffy production, but it celebrates a neglected, forgotten playwright who had quite the knack for a witty response.

A unique rediscovery of one of the biggest hits of the 1930s, Merton Hodge's The Wind and the Rain opens at the Finborough Theatre for a four week limited season on Tuesday, 11 July 2023. 

London's Finborough Theatre has announced its new ReDiscovery Season, featuring one of the biggest West End hits of the 1930s; a forgotten female playwright; one of the most controversial dramas of its day, banned by the censor; a family tragedy in rural Ireland; and one of the biggest comic smash hits of the 1980s.
