NBC announced today an ambitious new primetime lineup for the 2012-13 primetime season that combines one of the top-quality returning lineups on television with a new fall edition of the red-hot musical competition 'The Voice' and a crop of six new scripted series in the fall and four at mid-season.

Today in 2006, Tarzan opened at the Richard Rodgers Theatre, where it ran for 486 performances. Tarzan: The Musical is based on the Disney film of the same name and the story by Edgar Rice Burroughs. The songs are written by Phil Collins and David Zippel, with a book by David Henry Hwang. The production was nominated for a Tony award for Best Lighting Design of a Musical (Natasha Katz). 'Sir Tim Rice & Friends,' a salute to the Disney on Broadway songbook was held on Friday, January 7 and hosted by Oscar and Tony Award-winning lyricist Tim Rice. All seven of the accomplished performers are veterans of one or more Disney Theatrical Productions' Broadway shows.

Broadway vet Merle Dandridge will be featured on an upcoming episode of ABC's 'The Deep End.' Dandridge will be featured on an episode entitled, 'The Innocent Man,' where Addy's long-distance boyfriend surprises her at the office. The episode will air Thursday, February 18th from 8:00-9:00 p.m., ET, on the ABC Television Network.
