TBS has renewed its new sitcom Men at Work for a second season. Currently airing Thursdays at 10 p.m. (ET/PT), the comedy ranks as one of basic cable's Top 5 new series with adults 18-49 for the quarter. TBS has ordered 10 episodes for the second season, which is slated to launch in 2013.
TBS's all-new comedy series Men at Work scored 2,649,000 viewers; 1,630,000 adults 18-49; and 851,000 adults 18-34 in its debut last night, according to cable fast national data. The premiere of Men at Work also drew 14% more adults 18-34 and 7% more adults 18-49 than the prior four weeks of The Big Bang Theory in the Thursday 10 p.m. (ET/PT) timeslot. And it garnered more men 18-34 (395,000) than any previous TBS original sitcom premiere.
TBS has given the greenlight to two new comedy series as the network undergoes an expansion of its original series lineup. TBS has ordered six episodes of DEON COLE'S BLACK BOX, starring CONAN writer and performer Deon Cole. The network has also ordered nine episodes of WHO GETS THE LAST LAUGH?, a new series from Punk'd co-creators Jason Goldberg and Ashton Kutcher.
Cougar Town, the acclaimed sitcom starring Golden Globe(R) nominee Courteney Cox, is moving to TBS. The top-rated network has ordered a fourth season of Cougar Town, to begin airing in early 2013.
Men at Work, the new TBS original comedy series from Sony Pictures Television, has begun production in Los Angeles. Created by Breckin Meyer (Road Trip, TNT's Franklin & Bash), the sitcom stars Danny Masterson (That '70s Show, Yes Man), Michael Cassidy (The O.C), Adam Busch (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), James Lesure (Las Vegas) and Meredith Hagner (Royal Pains).
The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) today announced the nominees for the 36th Annual Daytime Entertainment Emmy Awards. Nine major categories were announced this morning on 'The Today Show,' including the host of the telecast, Vanessa Williams, recording and television star, currently seen on the hit show, 'Ugly Betty.' The show will be telecast on the CW Television Network on Sunday,August 30th, 2009 from the historic Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles, CA.
