Britain's First All-Black HAMLET Comes To Watford Palace Theatre

Following the success of their first three productions, Macbeth, She Called Me Mother, and The Diary of a Hounslow Girl, Black Theatre Live in association with Watford Palace Theatre and Stratford Circus Arts Centre are touring Hamlet around the UK with an all-black cast and creative team. Inaugural winner of the Roland Rees Bursary Mark Norfolk's adaptation casts Hamlet as a studious young black man who's forced to face the realities of his social identity, and rages against the injustice of his position.

Andrew Lippa's THE LIFE OF THE PARTY Makes US Premiere at TheatreWorks this August

TheatreWorks Silicon Valley will bring U.S. audiences their first look a London hit, when it presents the American Premiere of the joyous musical revue The Life of the Party. Directed and co-created by David Babani, the Artistic Director of London's Menier Chocolate Factory, this rollicking musical journey celebrates the songs of Tony Award-nominated composer Andrew Lippa (The Wild Party, The Addams Family, Big Fish) who takes the stage as a featured performer, along with a cast of Broadway and West End veterans, bringing to life a hilarious, uplifting, memorable evening that was declared "Sexy, sophisticated, and funny" and awarded five stars by London's Telegraph. The Life of the Party will be presented by TheatreWorks Silicon Valley August 24-September 18 (press opening: August 27) at Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts, 500 Castro St, Mountain View. Last night, Fiasco's version of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's INTO THE WOODS opened at Menier Chocolate Factory. The innovative production, featuring just 10 actor-musicians, previously played at New York's Roundabout Theatre to great critical acclaim, and the Menier run includes the original US cast. Into the Woods runs until 17 September.
